Trying to learn new skills and ran across this phrase.

What are they and where can I find them?

I've never really understood the purpose of linkdumps.

Most likely anchored text links to boost page rank. Not sure if that's what you mean.

Not sure I understand then either, I'm learning all about traffic and it's nuances.

I have a custom script for one if you want it Charly. I shut mine down because the traffic sucked balls.

link dumps are places for you to throw your links...

hence the term 'link dump'

Just a newish term for FFA (Free For All) link lists I guess

nope as link dumps dont require link back...

LinkDumps are basically a FFA except geared towards generating traffic for adult, with a little better than the cj quality - great for fake tgp traffic building

LinkLists are quality (usually Search Engine traffic) targetted lists of free links in many niches

So where are these places I need to start testing the site with any traffic at all.

Just want to throw a few thousand hits to it to see if it works.

this one gets between 500-700 hits/daily.. so doesnt really make much money.. maybe 1 or 2 signups a month when its lucky =P

but its completely run on auto-pilot so its like free money after you set them up

You can start with linkdump.com and click on their top referres for other linkdumps and click on theier top referers, etc., you should find more than 200 of them in less than one hour...

Do link dumps effect your PR?

linkdump has a place where you can drop your links people come to them daily sends usally a good portion of traffic to the dumped links.

not really, i thought they did but i have 2 linkdumps right now, 1 is a PR3 the other a PR4

so it doesnt hurt i guess
