I only checked out your first link but I will tell you what a rather successful gallery poster told me and it has worked. Always have your ad visable to the surfer. I find that a no scroll, text link only gallery works best but I'm sure others will tell you that banners with text work great for them. Another thing is that a surfer tends to view the page from top left to bottom right so these would be your 2 prime spots to catch there attention. Also your using allpetite for your sponsor. I don't know about other people but I think they are over promoted and you would probably have better luck with a small sponsor who offers exclusive content, how many times do you think a TGP surfer has seen ads for allpetite. Really though the only thing you can do is build and submit and then just keep repeating until you find something that works for you and then hammer away at it. Good luck

I get what you're saying...and I know that every gallery works different for every different webmaster. I'm not trying to copy anybody, just let me know, based off mine, what would work for you...according to what I have. Then I can work from there.
Thanks! E |
I market travel for a living, creating and testing print media among other things. So I do have some experience here in this respect. However I don't do TGP stuff, and really not much porn stuff at all - just enough to cover hosting and my beer money - so take this all with a grain of salt...
This relates to the first link, as that's the one I like most. I like your ad copy - lots of "you will.." rather than "this site is...". Black text on white background is great. Advertising 'gurus' swear that white text on black decreases the odds someone will read your copy dramatically. I'd say you've done a good job at selling your sponsor to those that read your ad. I'd recommend that you put more time into ensuring a higher percentage of surfers read your ads though. As someone mentioned, eyes tend to scan left to right - and right side is the preferred spot for an ad. Some magazines charge more for full-page ads on the right-side page and generally in newspapers you request right side, outer edge, upper half of the sheet. I would think these principles translate to porn as well, so I'd so location-wise, you're fine. As far as viewing the ad itself - if you break an ad into pieces, the components are generally ranked in the following order of viewer response: 1. Photo/Illustration 2. Headline 2.5 Photo caption 3. Subheads 4. Copy 5. Fine print General theory is a captivating photo or headline to draw the viewer to the ad, captions to deliver part of a message, and solid copy broken up by subheads to increase readership. (Subheads being larger, bolded text in the middle of the copy. Easier to get the viewer to follow along/read the whole thing if they're there) Mostly what you have is a photo and copy - skipping other pieces. You need headlines that state the benefit immeiately. Where you do have headlines they tend to be the name of the site. This won't do much to the consumer who visits your page with no interest in being sold. Hot pic, bold headline telling Joe Surfer something he wants to hear. "ITeens" as a headline ain't gonna get their attention. Photo captions are almost never used in porn ads, best I can tell. Don't know why. A viewer is extremely likely to read a photo caption, much more so than the actual ad copy. I'd suggest sticking some text attached to the pic to entice the surfer. Then, in the couple paragraphs of copy, drop an <HR>Awesome videos!!<HR> or two in the middle of it. Maybe quote an snip of your best sales text in it - consumer will read that point twice and, by breaking up the paragraphs of copy, you increase the chance the surfer will read the whole thing. Just some hints. Like I said, I think traditional ad techniques would translate to porn ads but I'm really not an expert in either field. |
Wow! a loitta good info! Thanks!
