How do I stop these ip popups? they're driving me crazy

I need to write down how to stop the grey box ip popup thingy's from popping up on my screen.

Anyone?

first... install ethereal

second.. track the packet

third.. send the packet information to me :Graucho

Go to Control Panel
Click On Administrative Tools
Click On Services
Disable "Messenger"

You want to select "Disabled" in the startup type dropdown box.

Also if you can "stop" the service status, do it.

Hey no problem. Also, you may need to restart for it to take affect. It's been so long since I've had to disable them, I'm just not sure..
