Crystal Reports. WTF ?
 

I see a lot of Crystal Reports talk now. What the hell are they used for ? How can it be that fuckin great or that hard to use ?

Dunno. I used to use them for VB stuff, but haven't heard about them for a couple of years.

I see people wanting this skill (among whatever you are really interested in) for half of tech jobs out there.

It's a very large, intuitive and flexible enterprise reporting system. We had it back when we ran a call center that utilized Remedy for it's ticket tracking - didn't hear too many people complain about it. :2 cents:

its a report tool...statistical reports ect..

Is it hard to use ?

It really depends how technical you are. As an engineer, it isn't very hard. I know a few companies that are really into analytics who have fulltime crystal guys on staff.

You can plug into SQL databases etc...

it's more of a concept

I'm very good at most things tech but its all new and sometings I occasionally just don't like the way they were designed. Asking how fast I woudl learn was kinda silly since you jsut have to guess. Oh well, thanks for the info everyone.
