SEO quesiton

Will this help me in anyway or will it hurt me?

say i have
www.url.com/key_word_rich_folder/ linked on my main page but that key word rich folder just redirects to my affilate ID?

The Oracle Porn 12-13-2004 02:37 AM

you will get banned.

Napolean 12-13-2004 02:37 AM

everytime i redirect something to my affiliate ID's... my actual affiliate linking code gets indexed instead of the page im using as a redirect.

so dunno if that would help or not

SmokeyTheBear 12-13-2004 02:38 AM

it all depends on the type of redirect

WiredGuy 12-13-2004 02:42 AM

The gain from this is very minimal (if any). The redirect will likely hurt you more than any gain you could get from the folder naming you plan on using.

if its a frame redirect with a keyword noframe page, couldnt it help a whole lot more then it would hurt?

Between using a frame and a regular landing page, I'd rather use the latter. Frames are one of those things which engines don't really like and I'd rather avoid using them wherever possible, even if you are using noframes to try and populate it with keywords.

don't think a redirect will help much. Make the folder, make the page, make it keyword rich content. And let people land on it and click through. A big plus is they will cache your own domain and not the sponsor. Better chance of being higher in the serps and if the sponsor goes out of business you simply replace their links.
