Would you sign a paper selling your soul?

here's the question - would you sign a contract selling your soul for all eternity?

for whatever amount of money you needed, a million, ten million, hundred million - no limit.

would you sell it and sign the contract on a piece of paper kept by the person buying your soul?

boner 2.0 12-13-2004 01:29 AM

Probably... depends on whether or not I disliked the person buying enough to take their money in exchange for nothing :glugglug

asuna 12-13-2004 01:31 AM

I don't believe you can sell your soul onto a peice of paper, buti if someone wants to offer me a nice amount of cash and they think they own my soul, no problem!

Napolean 12-13-2004 01:31 AM

you buyin?

SmutGiant 12-13-2004 01:35 AM

for only one mil. you can own SmutGiant's soul and his GFY nick :Graucho

psyko514 12-13-2004 01:35 AM

i wouldn't do it for a few hundred or a few thousand... cause you just never know. but when you talk about tens and hundreds of millions, that's a different story.

if i sold my soul for a few hundred million, i'd go out and buy a few cheaper souls, just in case.

Jakke PNG 12-13-2004 01:36 AM

Depends on my personal situation.
Now I wouldn't, just to be sure. lol.
I don't need more money. Not with a risk like that.

I don't believe in heaven and hell, but I like to play it safe. lol. I'll probably pray at my deathbed as well just to make sure, even though I don't think it makes any difference :)

im such a sellout... i sold mine for $10 and didnt even ask for any higher bidders :(

Major (Tom) 12-13-2004 01:37 AM

Who am I selling it too?
I don't believe in a soul so it would be like selling you the brooklynn bridge i guess. However, if the person buying it was super natural then I would reconsider. But if it's just some tool with a million dollars or so, yea i'd sell.

Duke

FreeFastHost 12-13-2004 01:58 AM

I don't really believe in souls so I'd sell mine if I NEEDED the money.

As of right now I'm not poor, so I'd keep it just incase.

sean416 12-13-2004 02:15 AM

I know this is a humorous thread, but here's a semi-serious response anyway:

That contract would probably be voided by a judge based on the following legal principles:

Unconscionability--procedural and substantive

Void due to Public Policy reasons

If you can't use the substantive law above, try a JURISDICTION defense

(NOTE: If the Devil loses on substantive grounds, he can always amend his complaint for breach of contract into a PROMISSORY ESTOPPEL action--ie., he detrimentally relied on your promise to give him your soul)

If you live on earth and the Devil is trying to enforce the contract in Hell, unless there's a reciprocity treaty between Hell and earth, the Devil can't file an action against you in hell cuz hell doesn't have personal jurisdiction over you.

Of course, like any lawsuit, you can also attack based on EVIDENCE (or lack thereof). Were there any witnesses? Was there forgery involved? Are the documents authenticated?

You can also ask for a summary judgment by claiming there's not enough facts to sustain the cause of action (lawsuit).

no, i will never sign any paper stating i am selling my soul I owe it only one person, and that is GOD

BVF 12-13-2004 05:09 AM

I would only sell my soul if I was guaranteed everlasting life.

Then I wouldn't have to pay up.

If you were buying Sleazy... for sure

chodadog 12-13-2004 06:44 AM

For sure. I'd just promise St Peter a 50% cut at the pearly gates. I'd be in like Flynn. But honestly, if someone was stupid enough to offer me a ridiculous sum of money for a meaningless contract, i think god would send me to hell for not taking that fool's money.
