So Many People Selling Domains; Is It Worth It? I'm noticing more and more, people trying to unload domains at like $15 to $25 per domain. Is it really worth it, when there are so many domains available out there? I mean if the domains were that good why would someone be selling it for under $30? Just a thought... curious what you all think :2 cents: |

there are so many houses out there but everybody needs a house there are so many domains out there and there are more and more people wanting to make money off the internet... |

Good if you can get great domains, and resell them for a good price.. I don't see the point of registering a domain at $7 and trying to make a wooping $8 profit from it. |

These types of sales are emotion based like many other deals...:2 cents: One man's shit is another's treasure... |

You're comparing selling a house to selling a domain for 25 bucks. If you are in the class with Taboo and selling high dollar stuff then great but all these guys that are selling domains for 20 or 30 bucks are just doing it because they can't make money any other way. If you make even a decent living in this business, selling cheap domains is not worth the hassle. |

Or some just dont have time to develop them or use the domains to their fullest. So dump them off and let someone else build them to their potential. :thumbsup |

Pointless for sellers ... but for buyers ? sometimes it can be pretty cool ... you don't have to search |

This is how you do it and why it is worth it get a few domains I say about 5 to start with some good some bad. Post them up on GFY and a few other places for $100.00 each work your way down from that. Redirect the domains to sedo so you make money their and the one's that dont sell give them away for free make some friends keep them or sell them on ebay for $3.00 min almost all domains can be sold for $3.00 on ebay so your only out a few bucks no big deal because you still make crazy profit! I made $500.00 profit doing this last week + $5 $10 on sedo and some positive ebay feedback! What do you got to lose to try it? |

As a (high-end) domain speculator myself, I do not quite understand their efforts. Whoring yourself around multiple forums, collecting $2.00-$10.00 profits. Five to Six figure deals - That's where it's at. |

most domains you see for 25 are worthless, but its all about what kind of domains you need. |

The weight of a dollar bill and a hundred dollar bill are the same. The sooner you learn that the sooner you'll get wealthy. |

There is still a lot of money to make in domains but only if you are 1. lucky or 2. able to develop it... |

With the low dollar sales, sometimes you are just stuck on a name, and when someone has something up thats cheap, and fits the site you are building or envisioning, why waste more time trying to think of a name when you can just snag it for a few bucks right away, plus its registered so switching nameservers is a bit faster than waiting for a new domain to be added. |

I wish it was as easy as that. "Selling a prime domain" and tis' all. Well, I guess that is all. However, this is under the impression we all have premium domain names. And or that these premium domain names are so amply available. Reach your hands up high - Bling, a nice shiney premium domain name for you. Not quite. Additionally - Tell the "hundred and a one dollar bill" speech, to someone with $500 in savings. When to compete, you've domains selling for $70,000 left and right. A median? Maybe $15,000 a piece. Competition? All with six-seven figures in disposable capital. You cannot switch your thinking - And suddenly divulge in the high end trade of domain names. Can work your way up? Without a doubt. But it's definitely not as easy as stated. |

I'm far from a spendthrift who throws his money around - However, out of general principle, if I register a domain name - And want to get rid of it towards the approaching second year? I rather let it go through the deletion cycle, then sell it on here. Or anywhere for that matter. Why? Chalk it up as pure ego, but I've made enough in this biz where I can let $7 go down the drain - Just so I can keep face. It's completely belittling to say the least, to sit here, peddling domains on GFY in efforts of receiving a return on a $28. Fuck that. |
