Need help with video editing...
 

Trying to make 10 second MPG clips but can't seem to get them around the file size I want, 750kb.

I don't have any of the pay software, just Virtual Dub and TMPGEnc. What can I do to make the file size smaller without making the quality worse than it already is?

Wish I could help you...the only thing I can say is grab adobe premiere pro. I don't know if you'd be able to justify dishing out all that dough on it though.

TMPGEnc is a good prog, I had no problems with making clips about 15-20 sec long and they had about 900k..and quality wasn't so shitty that you can't play them..

edit: I just found some clips which I made some time ago:
MPEG-1 352x240 25fps CBR 150kbps, Layer-2 32000Hz 56kbps...however this settings aren''t to quality..but clips have about 600 kb and are 15 sec.
