ev1servers.net is the ceapest I found so far but I would like them to accept Epassporte Virtual Cards...

how fuckin retarded are you hosting providers? People say cheap (ie $199) and you post something for $399!? Get your heads out of your asses. I have that same server at servermatrix (http://www.servermatrix.com) for $160USD a month and it's not hard at all to manage a server especially with servermatrix's free tech support. If you do need someone to install something it's cheaper to pay that person a one time fee of like $50USD than pay these dumbfucks at serverprovider.com $200 every month.

Unmanaged hosting is not for people that don't have a clue about linux system administration.

lol with cpanel/whm you can do anything you'd need to do, and if you need help with cpanel you can ask servermatrix or ask the cpanel forums. When a webmaster wants scripts for adult sites usually the writer installs the script(s).

This coming from a guy who has a biased opinion; "I have service you need me". If it's a fact that it costs more not to have managed hosting then can you post proof?

Hey Fred, i've got servers with both ev1 and serverprovider. Serverprovider is a hard working company that will bend over backwards to make their customers happy.

Someone hacked into my ev1 server last night and used to to DoS attack someone. You think ev1 would lift a finger over this? No... they unplugged my server and told me I'd have to wait until they have a tech availible to research it for me before they will plug my server back in.

They do have great prices, but you get what you pay for. This isn't the first time this kind of bullshit has happened to me with Ev1. If your hard drive fails or your cpanel fucks up (cpanel isn't foolproof, it's pretty easy to fuck things up with) ev1 will make you wait until someone is availible during business hours to change your hard drive, and will charge you by the hour to fix your cpanel issues.

Well that's why I dont use EV1. As stated I use ServerMatrix and they are great for offering assistance at no cost.

To each his own in hosting. Some have had horror stories with a host and others have had perfect! service with the exact same host.

I consider myself skilled in linux so I usually require no support and rarely mess up a box thus as long as the light is on I'm happy!
