Playing avi movies codec
I'm trying to play some full length avi movies (Shrek, Final Fantasy etc.) but windows media 6 is unable to play them. It attempts to download some codecs then it fails and plays only the audio. I've also installed DivX 3 and 4, still doesnt play.
I used to play the movies earlier, but I reinstalled windows98 and media player has stopped playing them. Any idea what codec these movies use and where should I download them? Each movie is like 350 MBs full, usually divided into 2 files of around 150 MBs each. |
Dont nobody know??

Try using an earlier version of media player.. If not that try a diffrent player totally..
Still if no... Your fucked so just plan on reinstalling shit over already.. |
or maybe just buy the dvd's rather than watching your pirated avi's? ;)))))

You can try the smr codec(patch), you can get it here hxxp://www.smr-movies.net/. You'll have to reboot after you install it.

Thanks yys that worked!!! Are these DivX movies? When playing them earlier they looked a bit blotchy, but now I've installed DivX4 and they seem to be look much better. Anyway, thanks lots!
SykkBoy they're much better than DVDs. These I can keep on my harddisk and watch over and ove again. I watch animated movies these way, as I like to study the animations. |
