Porno Is a Different life, how do you deal with it?
So, to everyone out there who has delt with people who think PORN is such a horrible thing. How do you explain it to people who dont know the biz? Or who dont see it how you see it? Or just want to fight with how "WRONG" this biz is?
|
they don't understand that it is just a biz and you are selling a fantasy and no more. don't try to argue you won't win. you will find out who you friends are. best to just tell people you "promote other peoples products on the internet and derive a commision from it". just be vague and non specfic, ie bullshit them.

Finding acceptance from the 'opposition' is unlikely and kind of pointless. If you're trying to convert someone to see your point of view that is no different then other people telling you that 'porn is wrong'. However, there is tremendous value in seeking out worthwhile peers with whom you can debate your views and evolve your attitude towards your choices and consider the consequences in a constructive environment. At a greater level, you can even pursue and/or participate in efforts to 'educate' the 'outsiders' with a more accurate sense of what adult entertainent involves. But I would not worry so much about that - popular culture (TV) is doing a really good job of taking the harsh edge away from 'porn'. :2 cents: -Dino |
My mom is ok with me doing this. She says she can't understand why someone would buy filth like this, but it's ok to make money off idiots.
I love her. |
Also, I've done all my essays and 'practice' thesis's in college about adult industry.
There's nothing to be ashamed of. Although I live in europe, where most of the population isn't a bible-thumbing freak who think oral sex is a deadly sin.... |
someones will try to find 5 legs to the cat and they will. Dealing with that kind of people is worthless
|
I don't come right out and tell anyone. I prefer for them to sit and speculate how I make my money. It's fun to hear the rumors!
|
You hide it. You can't replace your family. It's not like women who come and go...if you know your family doesn't agree, you do everything you can to keep it from them.
Other people - fuck em'. |
This is was hard only for my wife :-) And this is was approx 1 year... No she is calmly look at me..
I love my work and that is why we produce the best pictures and video. I do not want ask anybody: Do you like my work??? I am not worry about this...... |

But its not WHY you have to explain it to someone, its how do you explain it to people who mean the most to you?.I think we all have had a situation where it is important to make sense of what we do to someone we care about.... This board is all BAD ASS cause its called "GO fuck yourself" And thats bad ass and all , and everyone one wants to front... BUT, lets be real for a second... We all have not just said "fuck off to important people in our lives.... What do you say to make it better.... or does it not get better from here? |

Because we were not born into our involvement in the adult industry, there was a time before and after we chose to participate in it. Our 'special friends' before our choice may not have had the benefit of reconciling our adult activities with their interest in friendship. Hopefully, 'new special people' in our lives will have the opportunity to weigh in what we do before commtting to a friendship - some people just may not be interested in getting involved with someone in adult industry (this will always be the case). 1) For those important to us whom we did not necessarily choose (ie. parents, siblings) -- This is probably the toughest situation, because there is usually a strong desire to have these people on board with what we do (and it's really hard to fight this without breaking ties completely). 2) For those who knew us before we chose adult industry -- Some may accept it while others may not and it is inevitable that the choice to participate in adult industry may alienate those whom we never (ever) want to let go of. 3) Our new 'post porn' friends -- If we are aware of the caveats involved in waiting too long before disclosing enough information to avoid a future letdown with a new friend then hopefully, this will not be the greatest source of heartache. From my experience, ALL of these scenarios require a very clear understanding on our own parts as to WHY we participate in adult industry. This is very important! Participation in the adult industry comes with a full gamut of problems - social stigma, legal issues, it's a tough business with CC processors, lots of whackos in this arena. It's really not the easiest and most problem free occupation to be involved in. So again, WHY do you do it ? (rhetorical). You have to find the answer to this question for yourself BEFORE you will ever be able to explain it to others without getting snagged in semantics and mindsets. To my thinking, sensible involvement in adult industry requires a higher degree of maturity and experience - something an early twenties person may not yet posess (not to imply anything about the poster of this thread). I have had my share of trials and tribulations (with 25 years of experience behind me) and even so, it was tough to find my place in this arena without a lot of soul searching and willingness to let go of things dear. Once one has a clearer conviction to their work, it is not difficult at all to find strength and courage in that posture. When you speak from your heart and truth, you don't have to prove anything to anyone. Worthwhile 'friends' will recognize and value this. With the exception of dear ones we inherit our choice to seek acceptance from those who cannot be objective and accepting is more our problem than their's. :2 cents: -Dino |

I am very discreet. Those that do know I deal with it know its just a product I market just like any mainstream product I market.
Its easy for me because I market the sites. Content producers, talent, etc. may have it a bit tougher if there family or neighborhood is close minded. |
i always tell people what i am involved in i having nothing to hide, i have enough group of friends around me that respect what i do. i dont need anyone's approval if they have a problem they are not worth my time.
