brizzad 12-10-2004 11:57 PM

bad ass

wes 12-10-2004 11:58 PM

if you want to pay that much.. but why not just buy a house? It would be a better investment imo. :2 cents:

it's the private residence area. the cheapest place in the private residence building goes for over 2.5 M.

i think most of it has to do with how low maintenance you want your life to be.

xNetworx 12-11-2004 12:11 AM

7.1 for 3,700 square feet... Do you even have to ask?

I understand that it's in the private residence building.. but it's still just built no differently than a motel or apartment complex where you end up with neighbors that share walls or in this case.. your floor/their ceiling, etc.

stevo 12-11-2004 12:13 AM

Nah... For 7 million, why not invest in some land and get someone to build your dream house/mansion?

Or why not get something prebuilt? Lakefront/10,000 square feet/10+ rooms

Platinumpimp 12-11-2004 12:17 AM

I think it all depends on the location and the luxury and facilities of the building itself. $7.1 does sound like a lot of cash though :glugglug

Not worth $7.1m, but still pretty frickin' nice!

emthree 12-11-2004 12:29 AM

Total Interest: $11,655,022.51:helpme
(was messing with the calc + penthouse price)

Drake 12-11-2004 12:33 AM

It's nice but not worth it. Just think of what else you could get with that kind of money. Instead you could get a few houses, a few really nice condos, a few nice cars, and still have million left over.

alias 12-11-2004 12:35 AM

6m at best, bc real estate is peaked atm though no? might be better to wait.. .

EyesWideShut 12-11-2004 12:43 AM

WOW for 7.1 million you could get yourself a beautiful Loft in Manhattan, but of course it would be much smarter to invest that money.

Pete-KT 12-11-2004 12:57 AM

nope

twistyneck 12-11-2004 01:02 AM

Why not use that money to buy some really spiffy sports watches instead? One for every day of the year!

woj 12-11-2004 01:07 AM

you are probably better off getting a house for 5 Mln, investing the remaining 2 Mln, and hiring a few people to run the house for you from just the interest off the investement...

moneybiz 12-11-2004 01:18 AM

Fot that much money you would think they would have better pics online.

at some point you must remember what it's like to be a human.

i laugh at how the rich make these things so public.

LiveDose 12-11-2004 02:31 AM

Keep looking.

bret 12-11-2004 02:37 AM

if you even have to question it, keep looking. why bring this to the boards? i would be goddamned if i would ever let anyone on here know where i would be considering my next place of residence.

He only asked if it was worth it. He didn't say he was considering buying it.

Anything you buy at Whistler now will be worth twice as much in 6 years. If you can afford it, invest now before they max out their building allowances. :2 cents:

Probably not for you.

You have no friends, no woman. It's to big for a hermit.

its worth it , just wait till 2010 olympics when some celebs come over and see how nice it is , then they will buy it off you for twice as much

aflex 12-11-2004 07:17 AM

for 7m you could probably buy a mountain somewhere and a luxury cabin.

SleazyDream 12-11-2004 08:22 AM

possible to rent it?

Tala 12-11-2004 09:42 AM

There are some gorgeous houses there!

I love this one.

or just add $8 million on top of it and by yourself a private tropical island like Mel Gibson did.

strobi 12-11-2004 09:48 AM

As an investment? maybe...
As a residence? hell no... way too expensive. And it sucks living in a apartment building.

Here's an apartment a few miles from home:

10.5 million. People are insane.

In Whistler 7 mil can still get you a damn nice challet... the market in Whistler is really crappy right now...

fuzebox 12-11-2004 12:38 PM

It's like saying that for $300k a Ferrari is a bad investment because you can get yourself a fine luxury sedan that seats 5 adults for $50k.

Drake 12-11-2004 12:46 PM

It really depends on preference and your wallet. If it's something you like, nobody should be able to tell you not to get it. Similarily if you have a $50 million or a billion dollars in the bank then $7 million dollars is chump change, I'd say buy it and enjoy. You could use it as a home or for parties or getaway spot.

Most of us will never be in excess of that kind of money, so we're biased believing it's too expensive.

The Four Seasons in San Francisco also has private residences. I have only stayed in the hotel portion but the setup seemed pretty sweet if you can afford it. There was a completely separate entrance, valet, concierge etc. Full use of hotel services and gym. I would LOVE to have coffee and breakfast delivered every day!
