does anyone here go to church

i might start

ive met some really cool people that go to this one church - genuinely nice, selfless people. a welcome change to the bullshit i am used to dealing with.

Paco, of Large Cash. 12-10-2004 03:23 PM

No, I do not believe in ?god?, only my inner one.

As for morals, I need no religion for that.

I have thought about Buddhism as a religion (only one worth it in my eyes).

Sly 12-10-2004 03:26 PM

Sometimes I go with my family when I'm visiting them and have nothing better to do.

okny 12-10-2004 03:26 PM

Been there a few times, but since i dont believe in god i dont see a reason to go anymore.

quiet 12-10-2004 03:27 PM

from when i was 14 to about 16. my mom forced me and my brother to go (but didn't want to go herself). for proof we had to pick up the weekly newsletter. of course within a couple of days we'd begun picking up the newsletter, then immediately walking of the church, heading to the nearby donut shop for an hour with the money for the collection plate.

good times :glugglug

bigdog 12-10-2004 03:27 PM

No. i think it would be kind of strange to go to church and then a hour later be making galleries for meatholes

TheGoodReverend 12-10-2004 03:29 PM

Nothing wrong with going to church. You might just like it.:glugglug

After 12 years of Catholic school, 4 years of being an Altar boy, I think I've done enough time in Church to last a lifetime.

I was forced to go to chruch from birth to the time I moved out when I was 18.

Needless to say I have only been back once, and that was the first Easter after I moved out because my mom begged and begged me. Havent been back in 6 years.

cocky 12-10-2004 03:35 PM

Yes. Although I tend to give money in other ways rather than the collection plate. I give a bunch to my childrens school and legit homeless or battered womens organizations.

It is a refreshing break, but you can never talk about the details of what you do. They might tell you they welcome and embrace everyone but once they know what you do it will never be the same.

hahahahahahha

icase wars is my largest directorial achievement to date
i will never top it, methinks

burntout21 12-10-2004 03:37 PM

no not me ,

but if we torn down all the churchs and built about 10 big ones all over the world i think it would be better. It would centralize the prayer. Plus there are way to many churchs, i live in florida and there are 3 on every street. consolidation is the answer.

icase wars is a classic, dont get me wrong.

however, i think overall the "where im from" video trumps it. maybe not in creativity...but in overall humor.

ironlung 12-10-2004 04:17 PM

i definitely dont go to church, i put my faith in humans, not in some "higher being"

iwantchixx 12-10-2004 04:19 PM

I don't presently but with a child now i feel that I really should to show him a good example. As a child i never went to church and i find myself wishing that i did.

Indica 12-10-2004 04:28 PM

I was raised extremely religious, I have my beliefs, but I am not a practicing christian.

so you are going to church because of the people, not because of the beliefs? sounds like a smart decision

im happy with my Faith that I believe in and eventhough i don't go to chuch weekly, i love to sing song of praise which keeps me fulfilled

nibbi 12-11-2004 03:31 PM

I grew up as a Catholic and was forced to go to Church and Sunday school. Needless to say I, like so many other people, walked (more like ran) away the first chance I got. Some 18 years later, I have since started going to Church with my Wife and I have to say, getting away from the ridged 'old-world' Catholic mentality and finding a church that has a down-to-earth Minister has made a world of difference. I genuinely find what they have to say intriguing and have even started reading the Bible on my own.

Although I am not entirely convinced of a higher power, I figure it would behoove me to invest some time looking into this thing and see if it is right for me. I could continue the way I have been, by stomping up and down screaming 'God is a lie', but I figure it's worth while to go to Church, read the book, and decided once and for all if it's something I want to belive in.

sh33p 12-11-2004 03:35 PM

What's church?
