720 X 480 Resolution hosted movie galleries.

720 X 480 Resolution hosted movie galleries.

Do you think it would be worth a shot?

Show the surfer what he'll get?

thats too big.
640x480 dvd res is fine. You will get big file sizes and i doubt it will increase conversions but it will increse BW.

tried that already doesn't increase conversion thou if you use wmv format bandwith may not increase but conversion may drop a bit since all surfers may not have the right wmv codec.

I'd love to see the bandwidth bill on that

Not only they may not have the wmv codec, but keep in mind there is more Linux/*BSD users out there, Yes you can watch wmv on linux (dunno about bsd never tried :2 cents:) but it sucks, slow and ugly washed colors, etc. Mpeg is fine, Divx work well too :2 cents:

Um, 720x480 isn't the right aspect ratio. It comes off the DV camera onto a computer like that because it's expecting to be played on a TV screen which has different shaped pixels then a PC monitor making it 640x480 aspect ratio when viewed on a television. If it's gonna be viewed on a computer you want to make it 640x480 or 320x240 or something in the correct aspect ratio. Haven't you noticed that everything is streched sideways on the native 720x480?

Only South Korea has the bandwidth per capita to handle the huge broadband aspect of the big rez but get ahead of the West and take care of biz

That's called wide screen tv? I'm used to a 58" wide screen in my living room so 640x480 doesn't look right to me neither does 320x240 i prefer 352x240 or 720x480 besides, you logic for 640x480 or 320x240 sounds kinda shaky to me :winkwink:

I got a goolephonic stereo with a moon rock needle and it sounds like shit.

I don't really care about the etra B/W as long as the sales are there. We're only talking twice the file size anyways. The reason I said 720 x 480 is that's what is available inside my members area. (along with 160x120 & 360x240)

I just think the wow effect of a larger & clearer picture would be a great selling point.

and Mr Pheer, the 16:9 would be cool! Maybe I'll start shooting in 16:9 wide screen format. The Sony VX will do that but I have never tryed it.
