DAMNIT ... NTFS won't accept files bigger then 4 gb either

I don't know what to do ... I really hate this crap

Mailer 12-09-2004 07:52 PM

I'm mad . I just formatted the drive and made it ntfs (I converted it and it didn't work ... it bugged up . I was deleting stuff and the empty space was showing full) .

NTFS can handle files larger than 4gb i'm positive, i've handles files larger than 15gb like I said. Did you try partition magic?

Mailer 12-09-2004 07:56 PM

Yes that's what I just did ...

i just extracted a 6 + gig file ... worked

but when i combine my lists together, I get a fucking error

tedwinters 12-09-2004 08:17 PM

using a non-ntfs temp dir??? maybe running out of mem?

cause NTFS will not have any problem manipulating files 4gb+...

the file in the temp dir (on the ntfs partition) reach 4gb then I get the error message ...

and that's not with ONE software ... that's with all list software

why the fuck would you need a 4GB list, it must be pretty untargetted. you should at least break it up into sublists for results tracking purposes.

I'm having the exact same problem

Project-Shadow 12-09-2004 08:57 PM

I'm going to suggest its the program you're using to edit the file thats causing the problem.. i'd say use notepad but you'd be there for years.
