GFYers Love Pantera

Never seen more threads about somebody getting shot. They do kick ass but I don't listen to them much anymore.

SykkBoy 12-09-2004 01:03 PM

as they should
Pantera recorded great albums in the hair days as well as their pissed off days...
the young 'uns here will NEVER understand the power of a Pantera in their prime live show...
an extremely ferocious pit with savagely dedicated fans who knew every lyric and screamed along with Phil...

GiantGnome 12-09-2004 01:16 PM

im listening to them now.

xclusive 12-09-2004 01:20 PM

They "Were" a great band but the best days were behind them...:2 cents:

Diesel006 12-09-2004 01:20 PM

I used to love Pantera, back in my young angry youth days. Listened to them earlier and reminised.

Trendkill was pretty weak and Re-Inventing the Steel was so-so, but I think they needed this break (not how it happened though) and I could have seen them come together in another 2-3 years and grind out some serious metal...

listening to Vulgar again and just amazed at how great this fucking album is

It's true, the young ones just don't know what real metal is anymore. Been listening to them all day again today. I was never a huge fan but some songs always stood out for me.

Pulled out my dusty Vulgar Display CD and have been listening to it all morning.

This was my favourite CD for a long long time about 10 years ago and it was well worn out from playing.

Damn I love the song "This Love". Gotta be one of their best. And "Planet Caravan" even though it was a cover.

Never listened to any Damageplan but might have to check it out now.

RIP Dimebag. :(

Crazy times we live in aye?

BlackCrayon 12-09-2004 07:07 PM

i've been listening to pantera all day. vulgar display and far beyond driven are probably their best ones, in my opinion.

Are you American? Even if you don't like or listen to metal, you still must have heard of Pantera before.

I remember going to a Pantera/Sepultura concert back in the early 90's. Fans ripped out the first 10 rows of seats, at then Starplex, so they could mosh.

It will be strange going to The Clubhouse (Dimebag's titty bar) now and not seeing him hugged up in the corner with some stripper.
