Merchant Solutions?
A client just showed me this email he got from 2000charge:
Dear webmaster, The current bank you are using for credit card processing is closing down adult business. However, we have a backup solution for you. It is required that you sign a new contract with the new bank. Processing will be switched over to the new bank and no interruptions should occur. With the new bank you will receive your OWN MID (merchant ID) and your own descriptor (description on customers' bank statement). You can choose your descriptor, it should not be longer than 15 digit. The new contract is attached for your review. Please fax back the completed and signed contract to: xxx.xxx.xxxx. Don't hesitate to contact me for any questions! The new merchant? Merchant Solutions. Discuss |
what does that mean?

Anyone have a name for this "new bank" I'd be interested to know who's setting up unique descriptors for what looks like anybody.

I see shit like this all the time with domain names. You'll get some "official" looking fax that says your domain is going to expire or is being transferred and they want you to sign off and send it in. But its really just some ass spelunker trying to steal business. :2 cents: |
