SEO, Building A Giant And Pitching Your Idea
If you?re interested in empire building, I recently had a discussion with the Director of Business Development for HotMovies ? part of the MovieDollars program. He spoke on what he looks for when people pitch ideas to him, the building of HotMovies from the ground up, what his biggest mistake was and what he wishes he could go back in time to tell himself. They?re also looking for some help ? so if you know anyone in the area that might suit their needs . . . ;)
How MovieDollars Came To Be |
dude your articles are great :thumbsup

Mmmmm Empire building... I did that once before, the days before I got super lazy of course..
|
Thanks bro! The fact of the matter is, people in this industry are great and are willing to help the next guy out. Some of these people have done some really big things or come up with some great ideas. I don't think the difference between them and the rest of us is THAT big. I think, with some study, you can figure out a pattern for success. James has it figured out . . . it's just trying to pull it from what he's said that's tough!

Cry me a river!! :1orglaugh Great article. :thumbsup |
I just read the article.. The stuff about team of SEO guys, he's definitely headed into the right direction. So many people hire one small SEO guy and expect miracles. He gets my vote for having the brains to source the work to multiple guys.
Unfortunately not many people know this but SEO has actually branched out into a few different realms, where SEO is great, but there are so many different jobs to be handled now, and if the right team were assembled, you can literally be UNSTOPPABLE. Let's see who the first one in the industry is to approach it and put it into play... :thumbsup |
How big a team are we talking here, Nite? There are sooo mnay people gunning for top spots, it seems like the top of the pile gets farther and farther away! Can a crack-team of SEO superstars make a big enough dent to make it worth their while??
|
With so many search engines available having a team of SEO people can make all the difference in the world.
What do you consider worth while. With some half assed search engine work and a little bit of brains you can make 10 to 20k per month. One note I keep on my wall: Bridge the gap between knowing what to do and doing it. Everyone knows what needs to be done to generate traffic, sales, conversions - The tirck is you need to follow through and stick with the plan. |
Fantastic article Doug, you really ask the good ?'s dude.
As for the subject; If you haven't met James yet, make it a point at the next show. We started using Hotmovies.com last month and we are absolutely stoked with the returns. If you shoot your own video Content you NEED to talk to James. If you need a VOD program to push you NEED to talk to James. Seriously,, I can't upload my vids fast enough, easy money. Get on it, push it, use it., and do an inteview with Doug if you can. :) |
lmao! Thanks Todd! :) James is pure business and it's nice to see you doing well with him! It's about pulling every bit of milage you can out of your product -- VOD sounds like a fine choice. ;)

The most common mistake IMO that paysite owners make is not optimising their tour pages for the search engines.
Tour pages made up mostly of graphics are so far behind the times it is not funny. For more information on optimising your paysite for the search engines so both you and affiliates can gain from the enormous amount of free search engine traffic contact me [email protected] I charge $250 a hour which you should recoup 10 times a month. |
That's SUCH a good point, Swami. If you're going to be building, you best be building smart. The question is, what is the purpose of the tour page and is there a happy medium?? I don't know if I've seen any good ones . . .

There is a lot of money to be made in SEO, but you need to be good at it. You also don't need to only do adult ;)
Brand0n - been a while, You heading to Vegas? RRRed - funny stuff. National A-1 is Hotmovies.com - Nobody runs it for us. :) congrats on your move to adult.com hope it works well for ya. Todd - Thanks for the kind words. You guys rock as well. Anyone looking for some quality masterbation sponsors need to hit you up. See you all in Vegas! |
I never trust that WiredGuy . . . (sooooooooooooooo oooooooooooo ooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooo kiddin!! I love you Charles!!)
I have yet to meet Sandra and Rich. I hope for a public flogging when I meet them! As for SEO teams . . . I think 10k to 20k is somethihng, but not enough for a reputable "team". Mind you, if you're speaking of one person who knows their stuff and ten people who know how to meet the challange . . . well, that's different! |
the 1st thing he said was that there was only 1 PPV company in december of 2002 ???
|
Well, the world is a big place. Maybe there were more. But I'll assume to his knowledge that there was little more than that. The question is: if there were more than one, were they major players? And are they still around??
|
They're traffic converts and they've definitely got an empire built I give it two thumbs up.
BTW Kick ass article bud ... you never seize to impress me :thumbsup |
