It's open - it was released on October 2nd. I just came accross it now though. As for tools I use, it's mainly link checkers scanning SEs and directories looking for "Cannot find server" errors and then I have a script that estimates how much traffic the domain will receive.

what's the name of the link checker that searchs for "cannot find server errors" and how much does it cost. I've been looking at purchasing Popularity onsnap to search for expired names. Whats the deal with the expired names though? Most of the time when I find a good one it will still say it's taken when you do a whois, especially the ones through register.com

As for expired names, you gotta know when they'll be released and that depends on two things; 1) what is the registrar, and 2) when was the domain placed on hold
