How will internet be different from 10 yesrs from now?
Do you think people will surf the internet at super hi speed wireless?
|
Vrml or a sub set of that probably
|
100mbps wireless everywhere!
|
It's VERY hard to predict.
And even more interesting question, is how will the adult internet look like? :) |
internet?
|
The most popular website will be
www.SeaAnimals.com Thomas |
Whatever happened to that internet access over the electric wire?
|
They are doing trials in a few cities for broadband over power lines.

since everyone's getting faster connections will that mean we will also burn tons more bandwidth in the future? I mean, for example pic tgp's are dying, what about movie tgp's will they keep 20 sec movies or......
o well, I have no idea but I know more and more people will use the internet so that's one thing that's good. |
Yes wireless and directly into your powersocket (allready working in denmark - in some places). However i read recently that some "Big Thinkers" thinks that the internet as we know it will more or less die due to the massive amount of virus, spam, spyware etc. been distributed via the internet an email. They predict most surfing will be done via TV Like clients and mainly used for video-on-demand and tv-on-demand like entertainment.
But a lot can happen in 10 years |

I think the internet will rule all.... it will cause a separation of people
|
Faster residential broadband and mobile broadband are going to be commonplace.
I also expect the internet will become more of a tool and less of a novelty. You connect your fridge/kitchen things to the 'internet' so they can get information thats useful, etc. Kinda like the other essentials of water/gas/electricity. My :2 cents: .. |
it will be pay as you go and all wireless in major metros
|
All I know is in 10 years I think we will laugh at the thought of having the kind of download speeds and limits we have now.

They are getting very close to integrating computer chips into human brains. So once that happens who knows what in the world will happen. |

I hope we all have 100tbps wireless soon :thumbsup |
10 years from now: Every site and service will have word, code and/or picture verification when logging on/in. Making many things near impossible. :Oh crap

i think hi speed wireless is going too take over of course and hell you will prob be able to get on the internet at every location, computers everywhere lol
|
I predict more porn??:glugglug

I think we better start working on Auto-Human DNA sequence generators to beat the system (like the old keygens) as in 10 years time forget hand/fingerprint or iris scanning, we will prob need to submit valid DNA to prove to a computer that we are humans :winkwink: |

There will be more porn sites :glugglug

we already use wi-fi , so i guess next for internet is bluetooth.:winkwink:
|
damn, I guess im a dreamer. I thought the internet would be like virtual reality and shit..:1orglaugh atleast a holigram instead of a monitor. I expect HUGE changes and if its just wireless at high speeds I'll be majorly dissapointed in 10yrs.

Think back to 1994. Could you have imagined what we have now back then?
Probably not, but I don't think anything has happened in that 10 years that has been too shocking either. The biggest surprise was probably that the internet really helped to make the CD secondary to MP3 files for many people. Some very cool things are bound to happen over the next decade, but I don't think the internet 10 years from now will be too different than what we've got now. If one of us went into a 10 year coma today, I don't think we'd be totally lost when we woke up and started using it again. |
interesting topic, but for sure lots of new things will come out

100 Gb wireless and virtual reality

There is no doubt that the Internet will go through some vast changes, very similar to what our phone companies have gone through when cell phones become common place. The phone companies used to charge us per minute. Truth is that phone line was there and ready to be used no matter if it was used or not. Cell phone companies came on line and changed everything; I have pay one flat fee per month for nearly unlimited phone calls.
The same thing will happen to the Internet. Bandwidth prices continue to drop. We'll get to the point where they can supply umlimited bandwidth for a flat fee. As for the Internet itself, I'm sure lots will change. But we'll never go to a "TV format"; The beauty of the Internet is that anyone can make a web page, put it on line, and let the world see it. All of the virus and spyware crap will be gone in the next ten years. |
