Keep in mind if you use skins the skin probably has to be updated to in some cases.

The junk filter works with complete precision and has adaptive learning.

I also just love the interface. This is the skin I'm using. By Noia.

i just donloaded thunderbird today.

how do you set up your server setting so you can access email from hotmail, yahoo, and also my hosting company email accts?

i plugged in the POP and SMTP info.. but it's asking me for my username that my host assigned me...or hotmail assigned.

i've tried entering all my email accts user name and password, can't get it to work.

can anyone offer some help?

same way you do it in Outlook.

I don't think Hotmail lets you do remote download though. That would kind of defeat the purpose of it. GMail just started to allow it though.

I know you can add hotmail account to outlook express...not sure about firebird though!

thanks krl.

actually i have my outlook synched with my hotmail - and it works well. and it was pretty easy to set-up.

can't figure out why i'm unable to get this thing working.

i must be doing someting wrong in the server settings.

tonkagunner 12-07-2004 12:08 AM

Time to switch over completely now. I've been watching it since they got global inbox feature it .9 version.

clickhappy 12-07-2004 12:09 AM

Mozilla is doing everything right. Firefox and now Thunderbird.
I switched to Firefox after having to reformat my machine literally 4 times this year from adware that just installs itself through explorer.

tonkagunner 12-07-2004 12:11 AM

Well, I like Outlook Express ok, but Thunderbird just seems to have a little more stuff.

Capt Porn 12-07-2004 12:14 AM

the mozilla suite looks pretty cool too.

i'll wait till i get thunderbird working properly.
can anyone offer any help with the server settings set-up?

It looks pretty easy. All the email settings, messages and address book can be imported. You just have to put in all of your email passwords for first time because they don't transfer over. And I have lots of folders to delete and stuff.

Capt Porn 12-07-2004 12:26 AM

cool. i'll try the import option

tornell 12-07-2004 02:12 AM

I e-mailed the guy who does that skin to see when the update will be out.

He's usually pretty fast.
