I don't get why some monitors are so expenisive. When I go to Circuit City or Best Buy, some of the monitors on display just look like complete crap. :(

Good questions.

My 21" CRT is great and i've definitely got my money's worth out of it. It's an NEC XP21, still works great but it's just SO big on my desk.

I'm looking for a really nice. reasonably priced 19" LCD and i'm finding a lot of good ones to choose from.

500/1 ratio is good. Also 16 ms refresh time is excellent for gamers so you don't get "ghosting".

That's my research so far.

:thumbsup

Thanks Femme, haven't seen this one before. 12ms refresh with a 500/1 ratio for $370US ? Gonna look for this one. :thumbsup

I think LCD just need more lab work to reach CRT quality.

I have a Samsung NF (natural flat) 959 - only good words about it, it's perfect . It has a Mitsubishi Diamondtron tube.
Samsung are now what Sony used to be 4 years ago. Speaking about LCD : just look in every LCD review, you'll see Samsung gets the best marks there too.
