DIVX is a proprietary codec, similar to Real or Quicktime. It is not a Microsoft development so it's not a standard that comes shipped playable with most computers that I'm aware of, at the moment. In order to play files protected by Divx, the surfer has to download software that will enable the computer to use the files.
DRM, under the Microsoft SDK, works with all installed Windows Media Players with no additional downloading or work on the surfers part.
Divx readers do come installed on some DVD players, I've seen them on JVC and I think a couple of other brands as well, so it is something that surfers may be familiar with.
If you're looking for Divx, talk to Mick, he's their sales guy.
