I do this .. especially if I mention them in the thread or if I think its something they would appreciate.

I've gotten some gfy links in my icq from people, usually it's something semi important though, an announcement or big industry news.

Otherwise, I think most people just do playful banter around here, so why bother alerting the world that you posted a picture of a washer machine?

When I posted about my gf being pregnant, I sent it to a few people in my icq... but I didn't send a link to my thread about my laptop battery dying :winkwink:

To go outright and ask someone "bump this thread!" Hell no, never done that and I would need one hell of a good reason to do it.

But plenty of times I'll tell a friend to have a read. They're free to comment on that thread if they see fit.
