proof of automobile insurance... (California)

A friend got tagged with no insurance and just asked me if you can buy insurance that starts coverage a couple days prior to your purchase of it.

I don't know, so I'll ask you guys. :)

No infact most insurance starts the day after you buy it.

Just shop around for a cooperative agent. It might take a few calls but you'll find one.

baddog 12-06-2004 01:43 PM

Only a shady insurance company will pre-date the policy, and you will have to pay cash . . . . but it can be done

Red Ezra 12-06-2004 01:44 PM

fraud comes to mind

baddog 12-06-2004 01:45 PM

The crooked insurance broker would have to be pretty stupid. Your friend already got busted, is he going to go to court and say that he forgot to tell the cop about his insurance?

Rich 12-06-2004 01:55 PM

I assume by tagged you mean he got pulled over. An accident would be a different case.
