Vacation home in South Florida? Dad Dying Need Help!

I am looking for a home in the Boca Raton/Boynton/Delray beach area of South Florida because my Dad had a recent heart attack, and although he just got out of the hospital after 8 weeks, doctors are saying he doesn't have long to live. He had valve replacement surgery and quadruple bipass, but his heart is too damaged from not knowing he was having minor heart attacks for 20 years.

Anyways, I am looking to move down there ASAP, have been searching for a house flying back and forth from Ohio to Boca about 4 times now and because the market is crazy down there I am having a hard time finding a house. so... I need a furnished place I can rent for a month or two at the most so I can search for a houe and not have to spend a fortune flying back and forth and paying hotels.

Anyone that has a vacation house or anything else they can rent out please, please contact me via my sig ASAP, it's for a noble cause :thumbsup

I can't help you with an immediate place, but as far as looking for a home down here, the best way is to stay on top of the MLS listings.

In season (which we are going into rigfht now) its about $900 a week for their better rooms. I know as I had to leave there for months when my house flooded.

yeah, but is there a site that filters what you want and sends you or lists houses by date of listing?

I keep seeing the same old stuff and it makes it hard to figure out whats new without digging through the old crap.

yeah, hard to eat $3600 for a crappy hotel room, plus the closest one to the area I need is an hour drive away.

As far as pets go you might want to try Red Roof Inn or Motel 6.

Naturally call ahead to confirm that they allow animals.

Perhaps boarding your cat would make your situation easier and cheaper? You could put an ad in the paper, offer $250/month or something for someone to care for your cat in their home. It may open up so many more housing possibilities that you'd save money.

Best wishes for your dad.
