4 hour battery life my ass!

I bought my laptop in July knowing that I'd need it to do work, so I got the Centrino to have the 4 hour battery life.

Here it is December, I unplug it from the wall... I have 2 hours and 15 minutes of battery life. WTF?

If they can build a battery that keeps an astronaut in space for 12 hours, why the hell can't they build a battery that holds it's life span for longer than 6 months??

it's so that you will have to keep buying add on battery packs...:2 cents:

I don't understand why laptop manufacturers don't build solar panels into the cases. Okay, so it won't run your laptop for long, but it should at least be able to slowly charge your laptop when it's not being used...

Batteries gradually lose their holding power over time

Turn the screen brightness down, sound off, etc etc. then you might get a better lifespan.

Also that little estimation of remaining battery goes up and down depending on what task your computer is doing.

uhmm... duh :winkwink:

No, I know all that... but from day one, you unplug it, it says 4 hours immediately despite screen brightness. Now it says 2:15.

If I turn the screen all the way down, no sound and don't move anything... it still won't quite give me 4 hours.

I used to be able to squeeze 5.5 hours if I turned it all down.

Just sucks!

My Dell will do 5 hrs.......if I shut everything down and don't touch it....otherwise its about 1.5-2hrs. If I'm uploading its less.:(
