Okay this bitch on Ebay..

.. ripped off my girlfriend for some cheap $15 shirt or some shit she bought on there.

My girlfriend paid $15.50 in October (like the 15th I think) and still hasn't received the package. The lady claims to have sent two packages, although I only managed to get the first USPS Tracking ID from her. USPS says the package was not delivered and could not confirm it was ever even shipped. She won't provide me with the "second" tracking id.

I wrote her a lengthy letter explaining the situation and got, naturally, a bitchy reply saying she had notified the "post office" about my "threats." I researched Ebay fraud a bit and found that the FTC trained police coast-to-coast to handle Internet Auction Fraud complaints in 2000 and several people have been successfully charged with Accessing a Computer to Defraud, and Theft of Property by means of Deception.

Question is: How do I take this to that level? Contact my local PD, her local PD, or what?

EddiePulp 12-06-2004 08:31 AM

dude... its $15, I would accept that the T-Shirt ain't coming...

get over it and thank god it was NOT $1500 for a PC

The shirt and/or $15 mean nothing to me. It's the premise of getting fucked. And if she's doing it large-scale then I feel obligated to bring her down.. or at least give her a little scare.

drctfiesta 12-06-2004 08:33 AM

Dude, I'm getting a Dell

mkx 12-06-2004 08:34 AM

Really don't think it is worth even trying to take it to the next level as police trained to deal with Internet Auction Fraud complaints will not be interested in $15.

Obviously not. But if she's fucked dozens or even hundreds of people out of $15 then I would assume they'd take interest.

If it's an invalid number, leave them negative feedback then email eBay to suspend their account

Point proven. But it is not the same thing, you would have to scam the $15 out of me

Yes, I'm sure they would then be interested, but I'd think that you would need to give them evidence of some kind of mass fraud.

beemk 12-06-2004 08:43 AM

if its paypal you can open a fraud case on her.

LasseKongos 12-06-2004 08:45 AM

xclusive 12-06-2004 08:55 AM

Best you can do is call her local police department and have them go have a talk with her and leave her negative feedback...:2 cents:

RAGE - it's one of the seven deadly sins - think about what you are doing - $15.50 for a shirt? - so what - with the time you put into this crime you could make 100 times that from revshare - waste of time and energy - lesson here?

It's this attitude that allows people to continue this scam over and over again. I knew there would be people in here talking shit about only losing 15 bucks but fuck that. Scammers deserve to be taken down.

I wouldn't go to the ends of the earth to track this lowlife down but I would make a few phone calls and see if there was anything I could do.

Fatalspeed 12-06-2004 09:50 AM

if she pulls this shit everyday she can make alot of money, so it's good somebody wants to do something about it because people like that should be :BangBang:

Just so we are clear - anyone who has tried to do anything about this kind of shit will agree - it's not worth it - especially for $15.50 - now if it was hundred and up yes - but $15.50? weak - pick your battles - that is the lesson here - but - I guess some haven't learned the real ebay yet.

I hate it when the police leave me negative feedback.

nofx 12-06-2004 01:42 PM

try to obtain her real addy and other misc. info and spam it out to a few thousand people, that always does wonders.

bizmak 12-06-2004 01:45 PM

dude that's fucked up, bring that bitch down

sean416 12-06-2004 01:48 PM

post her number and we'll all call her a couple times throughout the day to let her know how pissed we are. :Graucho

NoCarrier 12-06-2004 02:02 PM

At least send a complaint to Ebay. But forget about the 15$.

The thing, if really she was doing that everyday, her account would be suspended. Ebay doesn't care about the amount stolen. 2-3 warnings and it's over.

Scammers usually ask for bigger amounts because they know their accounts will get suspended.

foolio 12-06-2004 02:10 PM

how did she get the tracking number? If she did the 'ship thru paypal' thing you are fucked. Thats how paypal proves the seller sent it, but its fucking stupid because as you found out there si NO proof it was mailed with the form paypal provides.

You can still try to get your money back thru paypal - they have a seller protection thing you can try to use.

15 x 1000 = 15,000.

Anyone want to start a t-shirt "selling" ring with me?:glugglug

flashfire 12-06-2004 03:02 PM

scammers need to be taken down...good luck:thumbsup

Dynamix 12-06-2004 04:12 PM

Looks as though that email I sent sank in.

She refunded the full $15.50 today and sent a letter of apology to both myself (I had said that I "represented" my girlfriend :Graucho) and my gf.

MetaMan 12-06-2004 04:15 PM

go over to her house and fuck her in the ass hard!

she will give u the shirt within the first few strokes, she may even also give your $15 back!

happened to me several times, i just stroll over and give em a good ass pounding, some people just need to be loosened up. :2 cents:
