AFF & The Weak Dollar

Does AFF take advantage of the weak dollar by informing abroad users that they get more "Bang for Bucks".

Say a user is from the UK, maybe the sign up page should urge them to take advantage of the weak dollar and that a $150 sign up is just £75 in British Pounds. Or something like that. Especially as its a strong opinion that weakness will continue and even deepen.

This will help sales because a lot of UK users dont keep upto date with the US/UK exchange rate.

that's a great idea actually since they already have goe targeted ads that shouldn't be a problem...

they wont ever do that because someone might hold them liable for the information posted on their site. AFF can not know the exchange rate of the surfer's bank or credit institution, not to mention the rates vary daily (if not hourly).

Imagine a surfer signs up, the site tells him a membership will cost him approx. 75 pounds because the dollar is weak, but then his bank bills him him 83 pounds for the $150 he spent.

hope I get the idea here

Well they could at least draw attention to the weak dollar.... maybe by informing users to the exchange rate on a specific date in recent history.

I think most UK consumers would be surprised to learn that they get almost $2.00 to the uk pound. Thats around 25% more than before George Bush came to office.

Probably will tip some more people into paying if they had doubts.

Although its not quite $2.00 yet.. the way it seems to be going it'll be there any day now.

$1.9424... GEORGE BUSH CAN SUCK MY BELLEND.
It was approx $1.4 before he came into power.

Notice how whenever Bush visits a country, they tend to sell more US dollars out of their economy...

Exactly right.

I think we'd rather focus on making sure the site itself delivers absolute value to members in as many countries as possible, than trying to work currency arbitage into our value prop.
