Actually that was the point of the jump, not for distance but for air. If you look at the quarter pipe you can see the scales to measure his height. He did break that one, it was on the cover of Transworld like 3 years ago. :2 cents:

I gotta find the video of Matt Hoffman doing the same thing but instead of a huge drop in he gets towed to the quarter pipe by a helicopter.

They have really taken this sport to the next level. I remember having these new plastic clips you can add on your skateboards so you can go up curbs. That was thes shit back then. They have gone bananas.
