C++ Vs Php

Does it still worth all the trouble to develop a CGI in C/C++ or PHP is as fast now ?

Let say that this CGI/Script will be call 300,000 / 400,000 times per day.

thanks

I'm still a fan of C++ CGI applications, however, PHP has it's place and is making tremendous leaps and bounds

C++ is infinitely faster. PHP still has a lot of catching up to do before it's equal to C, C++ or Perl but it's made some amazing strides in the last few years.

You're developping your CGI with which compilator ? gcc ?

and do you know good ressource sites for librairies intented for Web developpement ... I don't want to have to code EVERYTHING ...

(I've programmed for 4 years now in C++ but never for the Web will it be a big step to make ?)

Nope, it's really easy. Just add a content type to the header and use cgicc http://www.gnu.org/software/cgicc/cgicc.html and you're in business.

C++ is faster, smaller, easier (IMHO), and has many other points. :thumbsup

It depends, any compiled language is naturally gonna be a bit more effeciant then something that's interpretted, it's all about choosing the right tool for the job.
