Yo PC addicts can someone help me here on a XP prob?
 

just woke up this morning to check the stats as usual but instead my windows xp solved to please me with a message saying that windows requires activation.

LOVELY, well i try to reactivate the bloody windows but he doesnt recognize the internet connection. i cant even log in into windows, cant do anything. i have there ultra important stuffs refering to the work that i have been preparing for last months. yeah you can call me stupid for not having a backup of everything in day i called that all day to myself but the point is does anyone knows a way to backup the files or enter windows or activate the windows or ... i just cant format it, i dont have the backup of the last weeks and there is a zilion of things that i cant lose if i format and i cant backup anyway.
This windows version is a copy, i simply refuse to give $$ to microsoft sooo dont tell me go buy one cause i do rather prefer installing linux again.

If you are too cheap to buy windows, don't use it. Using a bootleg copy of Windows is considered theft. You want to know why you can't access your stuff? Because you are a thief. Use Linux and lose your work. :2 cents:

Why buy the crap?

Look for a warez download of windows xp with sp 2 (it's a new install). This doesn't require activation, although it requires a valid serial during install (which you can find on some crack sites)

The information is still on the hd, you have several options. One you can find th instructions and a valid xp key on the internet not really hard. What I might do is get a good key for windows xp and a small cheap Hard drive, take your old one out, instll the new one with win xp and the key for it then once it is up and running reinstall your old hard drive and walla you have all your old information back you will just have to reorginaize, ohh and yes I have done this and I am a thief, thank you, thank you very much!!

Thanks for the link I was actually having an issue with one of my computers and it was a legit install but i guess I made too many changes and it thought it was a new computer...

1.)
download a copy of the knoppix live cd
http://www.knoppix.org/
put it in your cd rom on your f*cked windows machine, reboot into knoppix linux, use the file manager to locate your needed files, and burn them to cd.

2.)
buy a legal copy of windows, or use linux.
