Question for the SEO experts

when you want to estimate how much traffic (roughly) reaching the first 10 results on google for a specific keyword - aside from using overture - how accurate is targeting the keyword with adwords?

a different way to state that question would be ...

what % of people generally click through on the first adwords display opposed to the first SE result?

and...

if you ever want to estimate how much traffic a keyword gets, what methods do you use if any?

thanks.

The results vary so widely, that there is no solid answer to your question.

As for adwords, my hint is that you should aim for the right side adword positions (rather than the ads above the SERPs)-- As they get better conversion rates, but lower clickthroughs.
