Thanks but we wanna buy a script/software and run the shop on our own apache server.

Anyone know of any script/software/system that can be purchased and used for this?

We alreaady tried installing oscommerce on our server.
It is missing some functions as a content download system.
like you only have the option of 1 preview picture. No link to download url after purchase etc.

There must be some system content providers or pay per download providers are purchasing some where that only needs littel changes to have work as a pay per downloads content manager etc?

I think they hire programmers to make these shopping carts. You can see a list of most of the pre-made shopping carts out there at
Perl: http://cgi.resourceindex.com/Program...hopping_Carts/
PHP: http://php.resourceindex.com/Complet...hopping_Carts/

There are many programmers that know OSCommerce well enough to modify it to your needs.

Hmmm... It's always worked fine for us. I know people who use is for content and e-book sales and have no problems.

edit - Look into the contribution area on there site. There are 5 or 6 really good additional picture modules that take only a few minutes to install.

I highly suggest not using Perl . . . . too much trouble trying to find someone that can work on it if there is an issue

Use Quikstore.com wth their Netbilling.com processing plugin. Works very well.

346940591 - ICQ.

I've set up a content system before using oscommerce, I think I still have most of the additional scripts saved on my firewire drive.

If you have the graphics and colors you want to use, the install only takes a few hours of tweaking to be ready for use.

Let me know,
Bill

I've been using OSCommerce for a couple weeks and I will have to say that it's incredibly easy to customize and has an amazing back end. If you know basic html/design/php (and I mean BASIC) then it will be no problem customizing.

There are also tons MODS that are already programmed that you can download and install.
