HOLY SHIT!! You see this yet??
This is some big fucking News!!
http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2001/09/rjb1.htm The scary thing is, the FTC might use this as a guideline for ALL Sponsors, not just MaxCash! |
What's so scary? I'm tired of these people fucking everybody over.
|
What's Scary?? Don't you get it? The FTC may OUTLAW recurring billing and make a confirmation Email necessary everytime the card is billed. This means we're gonna lose all the people who convert into monthly memberships because they're too lazy to cancel their 3 day trial. This is huge! Probably 35% to 45% of all conversions are due to laziness.
So, for all these lazy people who don't do anything, they're card won't be billed! This is a huge portion of our revenues! 5 years ago, before recurring billing, people began switching to recurring billing and their revenue doubled or even tripled! We could lose a ton of money here people! [This message has been edited by Unchilled (edited 10-03-2001).] |
Dudes!!!???
|
so every one just switch to $50 month long trials and rebill every 6 monthes or a year. Like a magizine would. I don't fucking know. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/frown.gif

We need to make site more personal. So when someone signs up, you save somebody go to his home and collect the money. Then he can return each and every month to do collections. No more chargebacks, no more fraud.

On a serious note, the FTC a while ago ruled that CE had to do the same thing but CE found a way around it and stopped sending the confirmation e-mails. Needless to say, the cancellation ratio did drop about 35% when they stopped sending the e-mails. |
They are not talking about recurring billing
they are talking about so called "free" memberships which ask for your credit card numbers, rjb doesn't have free trials anymore the dialer issue is a separate one, and not too many places auto install dialers anymore But you are right, it will have an impact... how do you think rjb pays you $28-35 or $60 per $2.95 trial, they need to make money to pay that much, right? Anyway I hope they make out okay http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/wink.gif ------------------ $$ DIRTY GOLD $$ Revenue Program JackThumbsTGP - - - VideoKAT-ViDeOpOsT - Post Gallieries - - - - - - - Trade Traffic - |
