MTV wants to cover the PLAYERS BALL, should we let them?

They want to cover it, should we let them do it?

I think it should be cool. I just didn't like when VH-1 did a big thing with it, then never aired it yet.

Pieces like this are good for our industry, shows us looking our finest with big name artists. Ever since Janet Jacksons nippe slip, mainstream wants more!

baddog 12-03-2004 12:22 PM

can't hurt . . . . . and I might finally get discovered

ProjectNaked 12-03-2004 12:23 PM

Pimps/Ho's on E was cool, can't beat free publicity plus you know they won't show anything too questionable-

:2 cents:

MrIzzz 12-03-2004 12:23 PM

bro, if MTV covers it i will find the brightest, loudest pimpsuit possible so that i can wear:glugglug

fris 12-03-2004 12:23 PM

ya for sure :) hook it up!

i am all for it.

ProjectNaked 12-03-2004 12:23 PM

Should you let MTV cover it?

Damn straight.

Just make sure they are limited to the VIP area. The last thing we need is them broadcasting the general population. They will end up showing the same type of people that the news always shows after the hurricane / tornados.

Fake Nick 12-03-2004 12:26 PM

I think it is a VERY bad idea

if MTV shows adultwebmaster on their best behaviour the average sheep mtv viewer will naturally assume it is like that all the time

they will only view the TOP webmasters that make bling and thus think ALL webmasters make mad bling and they should become one too !

there are already too many surfers turning webmaster , the exposure of mtv will only increase this

just think about it , do you want every other clueless mtv viewer on GFY ? because that WILL happen , if you think it is bad now , just wait and see what will happen after mtv covers the players ball

IMHO , BAD FUCKIN IDEA !

Mr. Jim 12-03-2004 12:26 PM

You have to ask?????

:winkwink:

RyuLion 12-03-2004 12:28 PM

That would be really cool!

I will, just for kicks to see what they say.

That's a good one.

I've been careful in the past, making sure we get the better press outlets if we let any at all inside.

Years ago our industry was real uptight anytime a mainstream show covering our industry. Times have changed, porn culture is about to be mainstream. It already is on the cable channels, shows about our industry. Time for the adult internet side to step their game up!

OK, I'll do it.

You all had your chance to talk me out of it. LOL

Dirty F 12-03-2004 12:30 PM

Oh yeah, also mention gfy on mtv, we need some more surfers :)

They already are. It can't get much worse.

Very cool. I say do er on up.

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 12-03-2004 12:33 PM

Charge em...

MTV don't got a clue now a days.
VH1 cool:)

But knowing how they do things they will put a nasty dirty "Children" dont work in porn slant with some silly family values thing spin.

Tough call.

Nader 12-03-2004 12:34 PM

YES!!!! You should

I want to come?

:winkwink:

ytcracker 12-03-2004 12:34 PM

as long as they bow down to the might of ytcracker on stage they shall be permitted

D-Money 12-03-2004 12:35 PM

I don't see how the Players Ball coverage on MTV brings people to GFY.

If the Players Ball site had a chat board, that board would be fucked. We don't even have a link to GFY on the site, so GFY will be OK from this.

Even though our party will have sheep attending, they will be sheeps dressing in wolves (pimp) clothing.

No one will know they're sheep.

Paco, of Large Cash. 12-03-2004 12:36 PM

If you want to be a sell out, sure.

I find it simply fucking pathetic the way everyone wants to be a porn star, yet no one wants to stand-up for us.

But what do I know? I do not do TOP40 :throwup

Hmmm.....So, he would be selling out if he tried to show a fun/positive side of our industry....Thereby "standing up" for us in a certain way?

Interesting.

Why show the lifestyles/conventions of adult webmasters to a bunch of kids?

Poppy 12-03-2004 12:42 PM

shut up hating bitch ,

I made some valid points ,

mtv giving exposure to a adultwebmaster event will attract mtv viewers to become a webmaster ,its that simple ,

lesbodojo 12-03-2004 12:44 PM

The Players Ball in 2005 is not a part of any convention.

It is a private industry event paid by adult internet sponsors and passes are issued to their guests.

No different then having Jenna talk or any other adult figure, Ron Jeremy.

The only difference is we have no nudity or sex being filmed, so we won't even look like a porn party. Just a fun one.

Go Go dancers are as dirty as we'll look.

As long as they don't use GFY and fuck up this board, then all of those aspiring webmasters only bring more money into this industry when they buy our content, feeds, hosting, designs, etc.

There are valid point to both sides. At least agree on that.

The good out weighs the bad so far.

But I'm listening, I'd like to make a decision with our sponsors and guests approval.

the obvious shortsightedness of short term saturation

it doesnt necessarily mean a bunch of newbies are going to be volumes more successful and drown out the current populace

paranoia

Mr. Jim 12-03-2004 12:49 PM

You are insane if you think this is a bad move.....

You think it hurts Jenna when she is on....Larry Flynt.....

more people at the conventions, more people on the boards, more people pushing traffic, buying content, hosting, etc.

Fuck yes sell out to the mainstream media even if MTV put a negative slant there is no downside.

It will show a lifestyle of fun, wealth, beauty, and it will only bring money and attention to the industry....

Don't take the boards so serious like its the fucking country club

Bugbee 12-03-2004 12:49 PM

For fucks sake people you must be kidding me. It is not like they are doing a half hour show on the Ball they want to cover it. Which means hey we may show up we will shoot some footage and maybe air it somewhere. But when they interview me I will be sure to mention GFY so we can get a few more crackheads on this board.

You are all smut peddlers publicity is publicity and if you thought about anyone but yourselves for one second you might realize this is a great thing for D-Money and the Players Ball..

Good work D.

Cyndalie 12-03-2004 12:51 PM

I wouldn't. They would probablly screw it up or make a sullen controvorsey over b/s like they do with everything else they are involved with. Keep the webmaster/b2b community tight and encourage the mainstream world to buy porn - not try to be a "pimp" at everything.
