When you go fishing, DO YOU...
rip the hook out of their mouth and throw the little bastards back in. Or take them home and fry their asses?
|
i usually post TWO threads about it :Graucho

Depends on the fish I get.
Big pikes go back since they're full of bones and not good eatin... perch and good eating fish end up in my belly. |
|
Usually throw them back for sure. There's hardly enough fish as it is these days without keeping all the ones you keep :)
|
try to take the hook out without hurting the fish then release it. if i want fish i goto the store, would rather not eat something that has been sucking pollution.

Yeah....Because all the store bought fish are raised in farms and fed only the finest fish food. |

I don't usually catch too many so I cook the ones that are big enough, through the little ones back in. :glugglug

ok, it's very debateable. catch and release is a good concept but there's a turn down about it too: usually the fish you relased won't bite next time to the same crankbair / shad etc...
When I catch fish I usually keep 2-3lbs of medium fish and release the old/young ones. I usually keep only the walleyes - best fish for me. |
If I catch a tasty fish I keep it to eat , if no I set it free .
|
Throw em' back
|
Havn't been for a while but any fish i've caught in the past i've eaten, so long as the species is good and the size is legal.
|
Is it true if the line breaks, that the hook will eventually rust and fall out of their mouths or is that a bunch of BS. And how long if so. That would suck to be a fish with a hook in it's mouth for a few years.
|
The good hooks wont rust and I eat what is eatable and throw back what isn't...

I throw them back. Don't like to clean them, don't like to cook them, don't like to eat them.
Sometimes if I go with my dad and he plans on having everyone over for a big fish fry, we keep them all. |
