Just got the new video security card installed in my PC...

...and f*ck anyone who gets near any of the cameras.

Next going to set up the network viewer and alarms. This thing does PTZ control, mpeg1 and mpeg4 recording, motion detection, and network monitoring. Even has a built in watchdog controller to restart your PC if it locks up.

Nice.

Will post some video later when I'm done playing with the new cameras... :)

This is the video part of the security system. It's a 4 camera input card with recording software. Kind of like a time lapse VCR but better and right on one of our computers.

edit - Doing my part to keep the BP4L local members safe and secure on the home front.

I have one of those two. Never really got to use it yet, the software seems confusing. I'll set it up when and if I need it.

Nope, one of the finest most safe and secure suburbs of Dayton, just adding layers of security here because we've been planning on it for months and I just never got around to it.

Hell it's great just for when people knock on your door or if you are looking for the mail man. Any zones of motion can be set within the viewing area of the camera and when a change in pixels is detected you get a pop-up screen showing you the alarm.

As in 1/8th mile? If so, I don't think that's a bad place, 8 mile however is a little more rough... :winkwink:

I still get it all at cost, let me know what you need.

The cameras are dual color and auto black and white w/infared illuminators, good for about 30 feet.

edit - Just sent u an ICQ message.

newbreed 12-02-2004 11:57 PM

F*ck, since I am behind a firewall, I can't get the remote view to work... Looks like a call to tech support in the morning. When I get it to work I'll post some screenshots.

Took me 5 minutes to take the case apart, put the card in, put the case back together, then install the software and drivers. Camer installtion will take a while, but we have one wireless I used for the intial set-up and it works like a charm first time out of the box... :)

I have a 6CH DVR card and use it to watch my front door, car parking area, backyard, both sides of the house, and have a PTZ camera when I get bored.... lots of fun.

Nah, I don't like wood, never have. I'm a polymer guy myself. Glock, H&K, and Armalite is what I have dealt with and own.

ProjectNaked 12-03-2004 12:24 AM

can't beat the kick-back of wood, especially the 30-06 and 44M-

:thumbsup

KRL 12-03-2004 12:27 AM

I like security cameras with 4 legs and a tail.

Didn't we decide that wouldn't work? I found another external gadget, its basically a switch for home use. Its $250, think I'm going to pick it up and give it a try.
