Orlando is the deadliest city in the nation for pedestrians, according to a private study released today. What's more, the top four deadly cities ? including Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton -- are all in Florida.

The report found that the 9,746 walkers who died in 2002-2003 were more likely to be killed on busy streets without crosswalks. Nearly 40 percent died where crosswalks weren't available.

i used to walk across 8 lanes of busy highway to catch my school bus when i lived down there, it was some scary shit trying to cross US-1 in heavy traffic :1orglaugh

The sunbather accident that you are talking about happened on Miami Beach. the officer was driving one of the jeeps along the beach and did not see the two women that were layinh in his path.

most likely because he was watching some of the half naked women a little closer to the water.

But also because the two women chose to lay in an area where there are always vehicle tracs from the life guard trucks and the police trucks.

i was living in South Beach when that happened... i was only a block away sunbathing when the accident occured!

My daughter was nearly hit in a Publix (Supermarket) parking lot many years ago. The guy was driving a Porsche, and thought he was a race car driver I guess, wheels spinning and car sliding. I had to snatch her back and I smacked the side of his car as he went by.

You live in orlando. How many times have you been rolling in your car and some jackass walks out in front of you? it happens all the time here. I'll bet Vegas is probably pretty high on the list as well.

People on vacation have this feeling of entitlement that doesn't exist. Car hits man. Car always wins.

People drive very aggressive nowadays. I'm surprised you don't hear about more road rage incidents.

It is probably all the old people driving, the old people walking and the drunk tourists that cause all the problems.

Cops will pull over and hassle people who are walking in Florida because they think something is wrong with them or they are not driving due to a warrant.
