Been Offered $2000 For These Domains

EasyFinanceTerms.com
LateTaxes.com
LateTaxReturn.com
LateTaxReturns.com
RUHardUp.com

Selling domain names is a hobby for me, at best, not my business. I think $2000 is a great price. I was about to take it but thought I'd ask here first.

What do you think? A great offer, right?

fris 12-02-2004 10:12 AM

go for it :)

Evil Chris 12-02-2004 10:12 AM

not bad... sell 'em

Jace 12-02-2004 10:13 AM

ask Taboo or DomBuyer

i would think you might be able to get a little more from them

right now, this time of year, i would think those would sell nicely

pornstar2pac 12-02-2004 10:14 AM

take the money and run

yea, those are solid domains. but if you need the extra cash for xmas then run with it. I would think you could squeeze $3-4k or more though but you mat also lose the deal.

I had no idea they might be worth $3-$4K. I was amazed when the offer worked up from $500 to $2000. I dont really need the money but it would go towards a new laptop.

i would think latetaxes.com and latetaxreturn.com would be developed nicely

i would not be surprised if latetaxes.com actually got some typeins

Platinumpimp 12-02-2004 10:22 AM

He's listing there here in the hope somebody offers a higher amount :winkwink:

Kristian 12-02-2004 10:23 AM

Cool. Thanks for your info. Although it's making my decision a little harder. :)

If they offered $2000, you can get more. Just tell them you wanted $5000, but are willing to split the difference.

That way you'll get $3500

realed 12-02-2004 10:54 AM

I would suspect the tax domains get quite a few type-ins and because tax is finance-related these domains could make quite a few $$$ per month at either domainsponsor, sedo or fabulous...

Give it a try. Don't sell until you know what you are selling. You could be sitting on a nice little monthly income there mate

Agreed. I would take the offer. :)

Kristian 12-02-2004 11:59 AM

Well, after reading the advice in this thread, I'm going to give the price more thought before selling. I've told the buyer I need a day or two to consider his offer. He's fine with that -- which is a good sign. :)

arg 12-02-2004 12:03 PM

Kristian, offhand I'd say it sounds like a very good sell price, though I don't know mainstream domains that well. US traffic is sure to be higher in April than it is now, but it still sounds like a decent sell price to me.

JesseD 12-02-2004 12:32 PM

Take it and runnnn!

beemk 12-02-2004 12:39 PM

any type in traffic?

mkx 12-02-2004 12:44 PM

Take the money and run. :thumbsup

I'd say latetaxes.com alone might be worth $2000 or more depending on the amount of typein traffic.

I honestly don't know. Never checked.

LateTaxes.com was valued at $5100 ( http://www.fastdomainsales.com/appra...=latetaxes.COM )

So I threw the others in and started the bidding at $500 on another board. Forgot about them until monday and I've been exchanging emails ever since to get to $2000 which I'm probably going to take. :)

Doctor Dre 12-02-2004 12:53 PM

Ask for more ... and see how the deal with it .

4Pics 12-02-2004 12:56 PM

I sold one of my domains for $3500, that i didnt think was worth very much. I think Latetaxes was better then my name.

Thanks for telling me that, I appreciate it. :) I'd probably let them all go for that much. I'll give it 24 hours and posibly hit him with a higher figure. Main reason I dont want to blow it is because this will be my first big deal. I've sold domains for hundreds, never thousands.

axelcat 12-02-2004 01:22 PM

sell it

Kristian 12-02-2004 04:16 PM

He just offered $2100 :Graucho Wants to close the deal tonight.

I'm probably going take this while the goings good, but I'll give it 24 hours to see if I can get any more.

If anyone wants to make a slightly better offer :

webmaster at eshropshire .com

KRL 12-02-2004 04:17 PM

He's getting a good deal. I would hold out and get more.

Thanks KRL :) Now I know I must be onto something :)

Truth is I havent got a clue what I'm doing and I'm just thrilled to have some decent interest.

Would you like to make me a better offer? :Graucho

s9ann0 12-02-2004 05:27 PM

I think you should take that is a good price for those domains for sure but it doesn't hurt to ask for $3k they might meet you in the middle :o)

Young 12-02-2004 06:03 PM

Take the 2k.

Judging by what KRL and others have said, my buyer may go to $3000. In all honesty, I'm already happy with $2100. I'll sit on it over night tho and see if he sends me any more emails. :)

It made my day when I read KRL's post. I know I've had some shitty domain names in the past without knowing it. It's good to know I have something decent this time around. :)

I'm open to an offer :)

pornguy 12-02-2004 06:30 PM

Taboo has said that a good way to use them is to license them. That sounds like it might be a better way. This year you make a few k, but next year, you may have a bidding war for the license.

Could work into some real money,

BuckLover 12-02-2004 06:33 PM

$2K is good!

That sounds interesting but I have no idea how to do it. I'll try and search out his thread later. Thanks for the tip :)

SmokeyTheBear 12-02-2004 07:53 PM

How do I go about selling the traffic or leasing them?

keyboard warrior 12-02-2004 09:16 PM

These threads are like the pot-of-gold -easy money.

KRL says hold- you better listen!

Kristian 12-02-2004 09:23 PM

KRL,

If you're still reading this thread, is there any chance you could advise me on how to go about finding a better offer? I'm not anxious for quick bucks as you probably know; I'd rather learn how to play the game properly. I know you don't need it, but I'd be happy to give you a % if your help leads to a sale. :)

fatsky 12-02-2004 10:04 PM

ask 3000$ or 4000$
if they wont,
go for 2000 $

I Should have KNOWN it was too good to be true! :(

I emailed the buyer last night. Explained I thought they were worth a lot more than $2100. Explained I would need to secure a more reasonable price. You guys, including KRL, gave me some good advice and I knew I was being reasonable.

This morning I get his reply. He is happy to buy for $3000. GREAT, I think!

But first, he informs, he must find a buyer (so he can flip for a profit). :1orglaugh

He had led me to believe all along he was going to buy them. I now find out he needs to find a buyer himself first!

Well, win some, lose some. :)

That doesn't mean it's too good to be true.

Contact US Tax companies re: LateTaxes.com and let them know you're looking for a partner/buyer.

JacksonHewitt
H&R
even tax software companies and online companies.

it's a rough road, but well worth the travel.

I'm currently shopping for deals for my domain TaxShelter.com and if I generate any leads for you, I'll let you know.

good luck either way and don't be depressed. the fact that a broker contacted you most likely means he has buyers in mind. find those buyers yourself if you have the time, willpower, persistence and did I mention TIME. :)
