How many of you could pick up RIGHT NOW and leave...

...and not look back? Pick up everything you can fit in your pockets, and walk out the door, and leave it all behind. I'm not talking about for the weekend or even for a months, I'm talking for as long as you want.

Who else could make this decision right now?

I'm curious. I know about 3 of you that could do it also, but maybe there are more of you I don't know yet...

baddog 12-01-2004 09:11 PM

could or would?

Warden 12-01-2004 09:12 PM

Nope. So I guess a life of robbing banks isn't for me.

European Lee 12-01-2004 09:12 PM

I could, would and have in the past.

Its always good to have an exit strategy especially when your parents have some 'risky' jobs and you are a kid ;)

Lee

Could.

NOW, as a side note... Consider that all of your affairs would be handled. Kids, family, pets, everything. Aside from financial issues, any of your worries, the closest being family, etc... Could you walk away from life as you know it right now, could you do it and would you make it?

Nicky 12-01-2004 09:14 PM

well I guess I could, but I dont think I would......

But if you were in a different profession and it was part of the job you wouldnt have a choice but to do so.

I'm not talking about an exit strategy here. I'm asking if you could just get up and walk. Walk the fuck away. Are you in a position financially to just leave it all behind and go away. If you have a site or program, all would be paid off. You owe nothing on anything. Everything you have in your life is yours or could be paid off right now... Just walk away, and be able to live and be happy and peaceful.

EDIT - Regards, Bill

.....and leave all this??:(

Meloman 12-01-2004 09:22 PM

Techniqually if I really, really wanted I guess I could just grab my laptop and head off to anywhere and work remotely.

But I like where I'm at and have no intention of doing that. Plus I have family relying on me (we own property investments together that I help manage). Not to mention my mom hasn't been in the greatest health lately so I go visit a lot.

But techniqually since I have no wife or kids I could leave if I really wanted.

I always thought it would be fun to live on the road like that (as long as I can do it with good cash and live it up) but after going to sooooo many shows and flying around so much I'm kinda tired of traveling and appreciate my area a lot more.

For some reason I think you are sincere. In that case, congrats man, feels good, don't it?

AndrewKanuck 12-01-2004 09:38 PM

Could I? Sure - Already did it on one side of my business. Would I do it completely? I dunno....I've considered just selling all my properties and different holdings and moving to a lot in St. Kitts or Turks & Caicos....but I think I'd get bored stupid

Sly 12-01-2004 09:42 PM

I already have. Moved 2000 miles straight out of high school. Was one crazy and wild ride but it was the best decision I've ever made.

Would I do it again? In a sense, yes, I'm preparing for it now.

MrIzzz 12-01-2004 09:43 PM

i wouldn't, i'm happy just the way i am. i aint rich, i aint poor, i aint beautiful, i aint ugly...all i know is that i live right next to the best city in the world and i can still smell the roses on my front porch too:glugglug

candyflip 12-01-2004 09:45 PM

I did just this and I ended up seeing the world on someone else's dime.

I could, but wouldn't do it just yet. Actually, I think that anyone can, especially those of us who don't have those ordinary jobs. Wtf is the problem with just settling in a European country for a while? Just go, rent a place, and that's it. Problem is, most people are scared shit to do such a change. I've done it twice in the past, and it's actually very fun.

.:St Ides:. 12-01-2004 10:27 PM

I could and have

maja 12-01-2004 10:30 PM

yup, i could do that no problem (with the exception of taking my dog)

I was into conspiracy theories growing up and a some of my co-workers who were big on crap like the gov't killing us all by genocide have "trained" me in stuff like that, lol.

That's what I mean the most... Fear. Who has no fear AND the financial abilitly to pack it all up today and walk away from life as you know it?

No fucking fear, anyone?

dirtydesignz 12-01-2004 11:48 PM

I don't know if this counts... but me, the hubby, and our 15 year old daughter are leaving in 2 weeks for Cancun, not a vacation, but moving there. Taking only our laptops, clothes and cat:)Starting over....

The Oracle Porn 12-01-2004 11:49 PM

i did a few months ago.

MattK 12-01-2004 11:51 PM

I pretty much did that 7 years ago when I moved to Vegas from Pittsburgh..

KRL 12-01-2004 11:54 PM

If I didn't have a kid I could and would. That would be fun as hell.

Yeah I could leave all of this behind... job, family, friends. I wouldn't miss any of it. Hell I'd probably never touch a computer again... probably end up living in an amish community or something.

Diligent 12-02-2004 05:52 AM

I COULD, even though it means I'll have to continue my online work for 2/3 more years.

But I wouldn't, at least not today - I'd get homesick & emotional I think :waaaaahh

It's actually planned in my future though.
When I'm more financially stable I'll just come back here to Sweden tops 3 months per year...

The lifestyle here doesn't fit me, It's fucking me health up - I want lots of sun and a more physically active life.
This goal keeps me working hard :winkwink:

Funky Bastard 12-02-2004 06:13 AM

I could leave I mean just stright up walk out of my house right now not tell anyone or say anything to anyone and just leave I would be low on cash but I could do it.

LadyMischief 12-02-2004 06:14 AM

Not for at least 16 years :P

Tala 12-02-2004 06:18 AM

Unfortunately, no. I'm rather stuck.

But it's a rare day that I don't desperately wish to be somewhere else. To just get in the car and drive and keep driving.

:(

slapass 12-02-2004 08:03 AM

I am looking at that right now. i travel a week a month and it is cool but I want to "live" in another place for awhile. Do all direct deposits and set my bills up. Kill the cat and I am free.

DEA - banned for life 12-02-2004 08:05 AM

Ive dont it before...and was best decision i made in my life !

JesseD 12-02-2004 08:06 AM

I think anyone could do this. The question is WOULD someone do it.

sean416 12-02-2004 08:10 AM

yeah, fresh out of high school I moved to a big city not knowing anybody or having a job, etc. best choice I ever made.

Jman 12-02-2004 08:18 AM

Been there done that.

Picked up everything January 2002 and left for Curacao in the carribeans.

Was fun and I'd do it again but with my girl by my side this time

Doc911 12-02-2004 08:49 AM

I have done it several times before and will do it again. Its called freedom.
If your locked in a room or a job with no way out your in jail prison.

You have to be willing, able and capable to drop anything and everything to be totaly free and independent.
