I know for a FACT they have not had them ALL OVER in canada for a year.

they're maybe a couple of months old.

I picked it up at WalMart.

It plays

DivX, Mpeg, Mp3, Jpeg

it also has progressive scan.

These new dvd players that play divx are not that new....not to long ago the first one from KiSS was like $300-400 and it was nothing special other then it played divx.

I've had terrible luck trying to burn stuff that works on DVD players and DVD players that supposedly play stuff. I finally just bought a standalone DVD recorder.

they're still pretty new, and not very widespread, especially here in canada.

radioshack carries a model for $100 and their stores are constantly sold out of it.

I have a Philips one that I bought off of bestbuy.com for like $80 a few months ago.

Mine was a bit over $500 but it can hold over 200 hours of video I can edit before burning to disc.
