TGP or MGP?
 

If you knew you could build up to 150k hits per day for either but only had time to build one or the other, which would you build and why?

TGP, cause I'm a cheap (and poor) bastard, MGP burn bandwidth like hell :feels-hot

Now why would a MGP burn more bandwidth?

The size of the movies vs the size of a thumb/full photos set. 3 x 1meg movies = 3 meg, average 12-14 pic ~ 600-700k

Lets says 50K of the 150K download one 3 parts movies = 3145728 bytes (3 meg) * 50K = 157 286 400 000 bytes, 157 gb per day, add all the other crap, design, thumbs, etc (for the other 100K) = ~ 250 gig/day 7.5TB/month... do the math for the TGP..

if you are building a mgp site, they do convert better, i think he means actually submitting the gals. it burns more bandwidth.

With MGPs, you don't host the movies on your server... so the only thing that would make a difference is that in the MGP side of the market, the thumbs tend to be slightly bigger than TGPs' But you make up for the difference in conversions.

Edit: Ah okay I understand why you would think MGPs burn more bandwidth. He is not talking about submitting galleries, but having an actual MGP.
