CREDITKARDS.COM - How much is it worth ???

Hi,

Sorry for yet another domain thread but I am curious as to how much my newly aquired domain name could be worth. I know it's a very OPEN question but I fust wanted some thoughts.

creditcards.com sold for $2.75Million earlier this year

I aquired creditkards.com for significantly less than that today.

I know it makes about $400 at sedo per month with very little in the way of daily uniques.

Any ideas on how much this could be worth?

Thanks

Terry

:2 cents: - For starters

realed 12-01-2004 10:21 AM

sorry, I mentioned it was parked at SEDO .. it was actually DOMAINSPONSOR.....

Please refrain from all the $5 offers hehehehe

Terry

JesseD 12-01-2004 10:22 AM

well - you probably already answered the question yourself. The domain has very little type ins. So, the answer is probably not that much.

polish_aristocrat 12-01-2004 10:26 AM

What's the number of daily uniques?

realed 12-01-2004 10:27 AM

It might not get much in the way of type-ins but it from the few it gets it manages to generate approx $400 per month....

By applying any laws of common-sense it's worth at least a multiple of the average monthly income not to mention the fact that a domain like this is quite BRANDABLE - most probably in Europe....

Terry

realed 12-01-2004 10:29 AM

From the stats I have for the past month ( not my stats I might add )

It's attracting on average 200 type-ins per day....

Terry

sounds like a warez haven...

do they spell credit kard like that in any european countries?

polish_aristocrat 12-01-2004 10:35 AM

What you are saying seems very unlikely to me.

I doubt it gets that much type ins per day.

And if it really gets 200 type ins per day, it should be making far more than $400 per month ( 2 weeks ago you said you can make $2.5k per month with 200 typeins of free-sex.com and the credit card traffic must be more valuable...).

But what do I know :glugglug

realed 12-01-2004 10:46 AM

I'm not sure if they do spell creditcard like creditkard.com in any other european country to be honest.

However, if you type that into google you do get quite a few german and dutch links. Again, I am not sure.

In terms of stats I can assure you that these are accurate.

What makes you think you can make more from credit card traffic than you can from sex traffic?

Maybe you are in the wrong business? LOL

Terry

thanks for the emails but I'm not planning on selling it anytime soon :-)

You realise that the English language comes from England which is in Europe, so what do you think.

Nowhere using the English language spells "Credit Card" as "Credit Kard".

HKS - no that wasn't me...

The_Oracle_Porn - I suggest you actually READ my first post. You will find that at the top of the thread just incase you aren't sure

chemicaleyes - considering I live in Scotland I am aware that England is in Europe. You do realise that in Europe there is more than one lanuage - there are at least 7 different languages and more than 20 different regional variations... but thanks for your very helpful comments.

EuropeanLee - that is probably where more of my visitors will come from. I just hope they have t'internet there :)

Thanks SoulRebel...

Whats to explain?

You registered a domain on the 3rd of September that has been making you $400 a month.

The resale value of the domain is worth exactly :2 cents: less than :2 cents:

Then surely you would also be bright enough to realise that were there an obscure European dialect spelling it 'kard' the chances are very high they they would also spell 'credit' differently.

I'm curious as to how anyone can say for sure that a domain just aquired makes $400 a month in typeins.

Oh - and it's anything but brandable.

Theo 12-02-2004 04:36 AM

Unless someone spends some serious time and money researching and testing domains he will always fail to realise their real value. I could show you domains most probably you'll say they are the most worthless and make a stable income and they will keep doing it forever, but i won't. :)

realed 12-02-2004 04:44 AM

"Then surely you would also be bright enough to realise that were there an obscure European dialect spelling it 'kard' the chances are very high they they would also spell 'credit' differently"

do a search for "creditkard" in google and see what it throws up.

"I'm curious as to how anyone can say for sure that a domain just aquired makes $400 a month in typeins"

I have stats from the previous owner for the past 8 months which validates the income and the typein figure

I hope that answers your question Tipsy.
