I got to do it all twice the second time was fun though because I had an edge up on everyone else in the room Except my Drill Instructors
I allready knew how to take apart a rifle and shine my boots and make my bed I just played along and hell I excelled pretty quickly the second time around LOL |

"Why are you grinning at me, Private Pyle?"
"I don't know, sir." "You are grinning at me, you ugly ape!" "I can't help it, sir!" "You got a crush on me?" "No, sir!" "You want to smoke my pole?" "No, sir!" "Then you hate me? You want to kill me?" "No, sir!" "Don't lie to me." "Sir, I'm not...lying to you." "YOU? YOU? Did you say YOU? Do you know what a ewe is? A ewe is a female sheep. A female sheep is for fucking!" "Sir..." "Why do you want to fuck your drill instructor???" |
I DID NOT KNOW THAT STACK SHIT SO HIGH
|
Sergeant Gerheim looks at the envelope.
"Who's Lucie Pratt?" "Sir, that's the private's sister." "Does she smoke your pole?" "No, sir." Leonard grins. "Is she a good fuck?" "Sir, I don't know." "Maggot, do you expect me to believe there's a shit-kicker in Alabama who doesn't fuck his sister?" "Yes, sir," "Maybe she likes coons." "No, sir." "You think I'm funny?" "No, sir!" "Then wipe that fucking grin off." |

ahhh ok... I wondered why it had "suck pole" in 2 different lines.
Those things are sure to get editing out.... Saying the same thing over and over gets boring. -Ben |
one of my favorite movies!

That movies 1st 20 minutes should be in the movie hall of fame!
I get tears thinking about it and laughing my ass off... I don't know if i would last more than a day before taking a drill sergant head off.... never been good at taking orders from people who bark down our throat. |
he was a Marine Drill Instructor long befor he was an actor, a lot of that I am sure was ad libed I couldnt imagine how hard it must have been to be making that movie and not losing it every five seconds from laughter I am sure it took many many many takes to get it without someone laughing
I know when I was in Marine Bootcamp you are Scared shitless but you want to laugh at some of the comments and sometimes well it just comes out and you are fucked |
Yeah, that's one nice movie, but far from my favorite !
|

Great Movie :)
The story i heard was that he was originally brought in as a consultant but kubrick was so impressed by the shit he came up with he had him replace the intended drill instructor and was given creative control of his character. I dont think that guy had been in any movies prior to Full Metal Jacket. If im wrong feel free to flame :) |

"I like you, why dont you come over and fuck my sister!" :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh but honestly though, its funny you made this thread. I bought the movie years ago and watched it once (I had seen it before) then just two days ago I decided to watch it again.. I fell in love with it again and watched it again last night. |
A very good movie, and they dont make them like that any more.

You never saw that movie? Are you quitting on me? Well, are you? Then quit, you slimy fucking walrus-looking piece of shit. Get the fuck off of my message board. Get the fuck out. Now. Move it. I'm going to rip your balls off, so you cannot contaminate the rest of the world. I will motivate you, Private Pyle, if it short-dicks every cannibal on the Congo. |

|
Are you a steer or a queer soldier. lol
I love that movie |
While i maintain that the first half of FMJ is the absolute best depiction of Marine Boot Camp i have ever seen i still say "Purple Hearts" was the better film featuring R. Lee Ermey.
I was attending Combat Squad Leader School at Camp Pendleton when the director of the school was Gunner Bolton (Gunner not Gunny very rare warrant officer rank in the Corps) one of his close friends was R. Lee Purple hearts was based on the accounts of a young basttlefield commissioned officer (Bolton) who had to call for fire on his own position.....he was one of only four survivors. Anyway....we had a "Bunker" as they were called where we would sit in the NCO lounge and listen to some old crusty bastard tell us how things were back in the day. Usually a highly decorated combat vet.... I was fortunate to have R. Lee as a special guest....then ran into him again with Captain Dale Dye who has become the premeir military advisor to feature film..... |
'How can you kill women and children'
'Its simple, you just lead them less...' :1orglaugh |
kubrick is god.
