xlogger 11-30-2004 07:05 PM

bad - people should use fucking firefox, its so much better and faster that IE.

Fatalspeed 11-30-2004 07:22 PM

I'm sure it effects us all since like almost everyone using the internet gets infected with spyware/adware crap, some people know how to remove it but the majority doesn't. And this 'scumware' is getting more nasty every day...

It would be interesting to see how much money affiliates have lost to parasites. I'm sure the software authors know!

leg4 11-30-2004 08:37 PM

i think it has taken a 50% bite into my bottom line in the last 1-2 years.

leg4 12-01-2004 01:17 PM

AnaNicole 12-01-2004 01:43 PM

Not true. Many people could very simply create legal adware-supported software that makes them loads of money by pissing people off, but most don't.

As for the effect it has on the biz... I know quite a few people who don't trust the internet and won't use their creditcards online mainly because of scumware and such.

Sosa 12-01-2004 02:07 PM

I make some of the money back from it. I remove it at the ISP/Consulting IT job I work part time for.

pornguy 12-01-2004 02:08 PM

So then we agree that this should take a higher priority over chasing the spammers??

I think that it should.

Then get the spammers.

leg4 12-01-2004 04:14 PM

i think most of you people... not all... but most... are not fully understanding what SCUMWARE is... and what it does...

Cavello 12-01-2004 04:46 PM

I am against it no matter how much money it could get me.

Some people seem to get in to this biz because they think its where the rest of their brothern low lifes hang out, Like they get to be some big ass gangster.

But other people are here because they want to make some cash while expressing that they think that sex is natrual and that pornography is a 1st amendment right !

Like a dumb ass I seen a day or so ago thinking every one steals other peoples web pages. Not all of us just role right over on what we believe if there is cash waved at us.

kill the scum, spy and addware first. Thin the spam

the scammers have had a major negative effect on certain marketing models, notably:

1. tgp marketing has been rendered mostly ineffective

2. newsgroup postings have lost 50% of their effectiveness due to virus and trojan download risk which makes many people resistant to risk downloading jpg and mpg files.

3. popups and popunders have lost effectiveness due to anti-popup measures largely instituted because of aggressive smut marketing.

4. major search engines are now not indexing pages with redirects, excessive popups, dialers, etc.

the bottom line for the surfer is that it isn't so much fun anymore to chase porn on the internet.

and that does effect the bottom line.

If I get thousands of pounds of drug to the streets and fucking up your city with thieves, murderers, crackwhores etc. and I make millions a month, should I complain?
