1GB Internet - fuck you all!!!
Finally, my hometown (LUND, Sweden) is launching 1GB Internet connection for households!
http://www.labs2.com/ We were first launching 10MB, first launching 100 MB, and now.. finally - first to launch 1GB to households . Price? $100 a month.. ;) Not too bad, ist it? |
Must suck going from 100GB to 1GB :2 cents:
|
I have to take your word for it....
and that 1GB is better than 100GB... :winkwink: |
yeah yeah yeah, it's edited now.
|
Huh? Do you like slower connections??
|
You wanna fuck me?
Wait a sec,,,let me ask my wife:1orglaugh |

whats the ip address range? I could use some more high speed proxies :Graucho
|
That sounds promising, but I would not yet pay 200% more for 1Gb line.
Not many PCs can handle data up/down so fast....yet... :winkwink: |

Yeah their website is not the sexiest - but as long as I can get 1 gbps I don't care :Graucho |

Very true. But I rather be "prepared".. and when downloading music and streaming video I'll be happy to not sit on a 0.5 mbps line.. After all, it feels pretty good to say to your friends that u got a 1gbps line, even though u can not use it to the fullest.. |
that's it,im moving
|
congrats man!!!!!!!

Read the fine print to see if it doesn't have a transfer limit (like 100 GB per month).

I'm in Lund too btw :glugglug |
nice price. If you host there for USA the latency probably fucks everything up.

For 1GB I can arrange some of them :glugglug :Graucho |
Would be nice if there were some content that took advantage of it.

Its more of an intranet with 1GBps
You wont get anywhere near those speeds if you try to connect to a server outside the ISP network But hey pretty cool for swapping DVD rips :thumbsup |
1 gb must rock
|
oh well I'm on 16mbit... I'm happy ;)
|
download limit of 10GB/month?
|
Wow, and I was happy with my 4MB DL. Way to go! :thumbsup
|
Who cares, I am still waiting for 100mbit VDSL in my house :( Besides, my harddrives can't even right at 1Gb/s
http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=VDSL+100mbps&meta= Seems like only people in Korea and Japan. Why not North America? |
Cool shit, I live quite abit from Lund though so I cant get it....but im pretty happy with my 10Mb anyways......:glugglug :thumbsup
|
At the risk of sounding too much like "640k should be enough for everybody" I want to know what the hell you need a 1 gbit/sec consumer link for?? There's no way that a single TCP/IP stream could go that fast, the only way you would even come close to using that capacity is through multiple streams. Sure, you could have 10 DVD-quality channels coming in all at once, but how do you watch them? :winkwink:
|
That would be great to have.
I know that they have been working on a new system in the US that uses the electrical lines to move the internet signal. they said that it will be 10 times fater than a T3. Imagine that. |
Why does my 3Mb connection feel so inadequate :(

http://money.cnn.com/2001/02/22/sbru...biz_powerline/ I remember reading about it back in 99 I think.. nothing happened =/ I was really excited at the time as well. I don't think powerlines is the way forward however, having a dedicated line for it would definately help. They also said they'd have a large problem with spoofing, encryption and security if they used the power lines.. still cool as shit though =) |
Can you connect one cable from Sweden to me, here, in Poland ?:1orglaugh
