I see nothing great about ozzy's music.

it's shit you hear from a 13 year old aspiring rock band. the lyrics from a lot of his songs are based around the guitar riffs... example..

"I, AM, I-RON-MAN" even though that was with black sabbath.

one thing he has is his image, and that is good. but other than that, he sucks.

and i don't see how the fuck ozzy can be compared (musically at least) to metallica. metallica was a LOT more original and unique in the way in which they constructed their songs. (obviously not anything post-black album though)

yeah he was a pioneer of sorts, but uhm... his music was/is not that great IMO.

hes the prince of freakin darkness man

Goatse 11-30-2004 06:01 PM

Ozzy didn't even write the lyrics with Black Sabbath. 95% of them come from Geezer Butler.

reynold 11-30-2004 07:02 PM

your right, his music is not that great but i think he's a family man.:thumbsup

Ozzy Rocks, man....:glugglug

flashfire 11-30-2004 07:14 PM

Both were great during their time....no need to compare them really

Kimmykim 11-30-2004 07:16 PM

I'm not sure how anyone could dislike the Ozman.

Doesn't make sense to me.

MrIzzz 11-30-2004 07:16 PM

what sabbath did during the time they did it was groundbreaking

Exactly. You could say the same thing about Elvis, BUT only when you take the artist out of his circa.

IMO...he is a Rock God and you are a ticket holder

chaze 11-30-2004 07:23 PM

Yeh it's timing they broke through when when nobody else could.

It's respect for me.

Spunky 11-30-2004 07:24 PM

You have to realize Black Sabbath was sorta unique in those days...Gotta respect the prince of darkness after he hung in all these years

Vendzilla 11-30-2004 07:28 PM

Been lucky enough to see him twice in concert, you can't put him down unless you've seen him in concert, he has a presence that really moves the crowd, he makes the place rock hard, really hard!
Last time I saw him was in 1983 at the US festival in southern california. No big show from him, just pure OZZY and it was great. Talked to someone that saw him last year I think and he's still putting on a great show!

Me, 15 beers ...right before the concert

I saw Black Sabbath in Sept. 1978 and they sucked so fucking bad. I left about halfway through the show and the hall was already half empty. Van Halen opened for them and completely blew BS away. Ozzy was fucked up, staggering and slurring. It was fucking pathetic. Sabbath kicked him out of the band after that tour and brought in Dio.

Kard63 11-30-2004 07:35 PM

I liked paranoid, crazy train and iron man. Nothing super spectacular though.

Ozzy was Black Sabbath notice no one listened to them after that.

we play a few ozzy songs in the cover project... my favorite song that we play is BARK AT THE MOON - it's fucking awesome.

Screaming 11-30-2004 08:18 PM

i think it was the frame of mind that alot of people were in in those days that made him so big,

tony286 11-30-2004 08:20 PM

You have tp remember when black sabbath came around there was nothing like that. Rock n roll was cream or bubble gum pop

evildick 11-30-2004 08:20 PM

Who else was doing what Black Sabbath was doing at the time?

Admittedly his solo stuff wasn't "revolutionary" like Sabbath was, but they were still great rock tunes (that's really all that matters) and he always had a knack for getting some of the best guitar players of the time. Jake E Lee, Randy Rhoads, even Zakk Wylde.

I haven't really liked his last couple albums though, but everything before No More Tears was fantastic.
