this is actually a major point for me. my home is open and made to feel like it's always open. (bedroom of course is another story)

As long as you make her feel just at home, and just as you can say "I need a day without visitors", she should be able to say the same.

Those are good qualities to look for. I'd have to draw the line at the open house policy thing. My house is my haven and I don't like to feel invaded. Sounds good to me. The house deal is probably more related to what someone is used to. I'm really close with my family so I have them and my friends tromping in and out, day and night. I never think about it and they all have their own key, lol. My ex-husband used to get a little freaked out at first because he wasn't raised like that. The travel deal will probably be the hardest, depending on her work and other commitments.
