Anybody ever tried Provigil (modafinil)?

Supposedly this is the new thing that pilots take to keep them awake...

Supposed to cause you to just not need sleep, and be able to be used for a couple days without serious side effects. Oh, and not speedy like an amphetimine, so you aren't all jacked, just awake.

Sounds spooky, but man, who couldn't use an extra 8 hours here and there?

It's for sale all over the net, but anyone ever heard of anybody actually trying it?

i remember when i heard about that shit i told all my hacker friends and we were mystified

now i think staying up sucks i do it anyway without help

colpanic 11-29-2004 11:19 PM

hehe.. same here.. we thought "shit, we can hack code 18 hours per day!"...

But it seems to be really taking off now. I keep hearing more about it.

Half tempted to try it, except I don't want to get popped for ordering crap off the net :)

I've yet to see anyone local with it, but I've been considering ordering it off the net or asking my doctor for it for quite a long time now.

Bump.. still curious

Must be the new PHen-Fen (sp?)

Sounds tempting... but I'll let someone else be the guinea pig.

If it's still on the market in 5 years I'll try it.

Check out this link:

This is an excellent site for unbiased, user submitted information on most drugs used for Chronic Fatique, depression, anxiety...

That sounds tempting, but lack of sleep can cause serious damage to your brain whether the lack of sleep is felt or not.

It's very similar to Adderal. Basically, it helps narcoleptics stay awake during the day. I've tried it and it's like Speed's little brother. If you need to drive for 20 hours while staying sharp, I highly recommand it.

sounds interesting but no thanks i love to sleep.

pubenemy 11-30-2004 06:41 PM

Im currently on it for about 10 days straight working 16 hours a day 7 days a week thought Id give it a try. I honestly dont notice any difference but I keep taking it hoping for some results. I take 200mg every morning.

Sounds like some good stuff. I can see a lot of people passing out from exhaustion from abusing this stuff.
